Soak up the sun in the new Miami - West Palm Beach route for Train Sim World 2 and drive the commuter rail line under cloudless blue skies from Mangonia Park to Miami Airport. The 70 mile (114 km) long route runs parallel to the Southeast Florida coast and has 18 stations along its length. A typical station on the route is composed of two side platforms connected by an overpass and two tracks, one for southbound trains and the other for northbound trains The rolling stock: The Genesis series of locomotives was designed by General Electric in response to a specification published by Amtrak and ultimately selected over a competing design presented by Electro-Motive Diesel (EMD). The Genesis series were the lowest North American diesel-electric locomotives until the introduction of the Siemens Charger. This height restriction allows the locomotive to travel easily through low-profile tunnels in the Northeast Corridor. The Genesis series is lower than even the previous-generation F40PH by 14 inches (356 mm). These will run 79 passenger services along this route The GE C40-8W is a 6-axle road switcher diesel-electric locomotive built by GE Transportation Systems from 1989 to 1994. Often referred to as a Dash 8-40CW, it is part of the GE Dash 8 Series of freight locomotives. these will run 25 freight services along the route
This was one of my least favourite routes in Train Simulator. It's flat and straight railroad with low speed limits.
If I remember correctly the Silver Meteor or the Auto train service run this route. would they be included?
Where did you get that number from? At most there would be 4 run thru services. The Silver Star and Silver Meteor, with one train both directions, and maybe some yard switching in Miami. Also it really wasn't one of the most liked routes in TS2021. The Silver Meteor, yes as that goes to Miami, not the Auto Train however, as that only goes as far as Sanford Florida, about 165 miles to the north of West Palm Beach. Also one thing this route will miss is the Tri-Rail Services, as DTG couldn't get the license for them in TS2021, and they wont include unbranded content in TSW2.
The Auto Train and Silver Meteor are great ideas for this route. I'd love the AC6000CW (or a CSX rebuilt CW46AC), ET44AH, ST70AH, GP60, Genset Switcher, Genesis P42DC, and/or Siemens Charger.
