So, what is this route and why do I want it in TSW2? The UP Overland Route is a US freight line stretching from Chicago, Il to Oakland, CA. The particular section I have chosen is the 65 mile (104km) route from Council Bluffs, IA to Denison IA. Now why this route? I chose this route because most TSW routes have to do with steep challenging grades. So why not switch up with a fast freight route across the Great Plaines? There are small yards in Missouri Valley and Denison that would add places to do small switching operations. There are multiple grains loaders on the route to make stops at and carry grain along the route. There are also intermodal train that run of the route. There are also a plentiful amount the tank car operations on the route as well. Now the rolling stock: Covered hoppers and open top hoppers. Intermodal cars: Tank car: Now the locomotives: SD70M in the Building America scheme: The ES44AC also in the Building America scheme: Now I only have one DLC in mind: The SD40-2 in the Lighting bolt scheme: The GP38-2 from Peninsula Corridor could layered over along with the AC440CW from Cane Creek. In conclusion I love to see this route in TSW2 because it adds something new to party with high speed American freight. The route also has a large array of rolling stock that runs on the line. Thank you for reading my suggestion and have a good day!
Excellent idea and you might need to consider this Tank Cars must be the new DOT-117 standard. In the case of Oakville subdivision the US DOT-117 car is called a TC-117. The Dot-117 post Lac Megantic will layer onto Sand Patch Grade as a Transcontinental port of Baltimore oil service.
