Hiya Folks and welcome to this suggestion. I suggest one of my favourite narrow gauge railways; the Bala Lake Railway. The Bala Lake railway runs along part the of the old standard gauge track-bed of the Ruabon-Barmouth Branch Line which fell victim to the Beeching’s Axe in 1965. (The Llangollen Railway used another section of this abandoned branch) The Route The Bala Lake Railway runs for 4.5 miles between Penybont (just outside Bala) and Llanuwchllyn. The stations include: Llanuwchllyn Pentrepiod Halt Glan Llyn Halt Llangower Bryn Hynod Halt Penybont Rolling Stock Steam Traction Quarry Hunslet (both open cab and closed cab) Diesel Traction Meirionnydd The railway is currently being extented into the town of Bala (https://www.balalakerailwaytrust.org.uk/appeal.html)
