    Hi everybody

I have a couple of questions regarding TSW 2 and TS Classic.

Firstly I have enjoyed TSW 2 on PS4 for some time now, I own most of the DLC's and have spent far too many hours playing.

I decided a few days ago to upgrade to the PC version (and thoroughly enjoying it so far) so my questions are as follows

1.) Is there a rough guide on what the future of TSW 2 is going to be? (ie will it be like TS Classic and just be one game which is constantly added to over time? or will it become just a number in a series of games released every year or two?) Basically is it worth investing (again) in TSW2 DLC or will it all be irrelevant by this time next year?

2.) With Q1 in mind, am I mad for also wanting to purchase TS Classic? likewise does it have a future ahead of it still or is it going to be slowly forgotten about to make way for TSW?

3.) If I was to purchase TS 2021 now, what will I get included? Just the 3 new routes advertised on steam? If I was to purchase a disc based copy of say TS2019 will get those routes plus the new TS2021 routes? or will I have to purchase the upgrade to TS2021 separately? Im trying to figure out what method of purchase will be the best value for money.

    Many Thanks

    Dan

TSW2 will continue to be updated with routes until the next incarnation comes along.
When the TSW comes along, they might port over routes into the new one as preserved collection (as they did with TSW2020).

No, you aren't mad for wanting to try out TS classic. I did the same thing myself and bought a few extras during the Lunar celebration last month.
TS classic (TS21 now) is completely different from TSW. There's no getting out of the train to wander around. However, there are a lot of routes available (DTG and 3rd party) but it can be a minefield when buying 3rd party routes as they usually require extras to be purchased to make the packs run.

I do know that in the current version of TS, you get the Fife circle line (a great route). I can't remember what else came with it (Clinchfield I think).
Now, in a few days there's going to be the March Madness sale on Steam so it might be worth waiting until then to see what discounts are put on.

Oh, the routes included in TS2021 are Fife Circle, Clinchfield RR and Kiel - Lubeck.

Each game has their own merits. TSW2 is more detailed but the routes are shorter.
TS2021 has been going a long time (railworks was the original game) so some routes are showing their age and the graphics aren't as well polished but it's still good fun to play and drive locos that aren't part of TSW yet (or may never be).
