This post gave me the chuckles - well done. DTG got brought out by a company - that means that a company with more money brought DTG because they see potential in it. That's not really anything bad on DTG part it's just the way of the business world. They haven't even technically left - the DTG franchise still exists its just owned by a new company. And trust me, people play both all the time, we over on TSC adore it and I'm sure TSW players love it - even though I dropped TSW for a completely different reason. This entire thread is just peak anti-dtg fanboyism and always gives me the chuckles, well done.
New ownership means the New Company can't use old owners name title which means New game and Players aren't going to come back! Plus the fact its been to long and so many players have moved on, wouldn't be worth adding to a garbage game as most PC players view it and thats the bottom line because more PC players play it than Consoles, just look it up Facts !
Well no kidding Almost like one of DTGS flagship games are PC ONLY. And enfact if you want to talk statistics - train simulators in general - all of them have lost players since 2021/2022 due to the pandemic ending meaning more people are going out but laods of people STILL PLAY them. And even then don't forget DTG'S non transport products which do surprisingly well all things considered. And TSC/TSW is still arguably the best train simulator on the market based on routes/rolling stocks and graphics respectively. TSW and TSC aren't dying as you put it - Mark my words.
In fact if you read what another Dtg staff member said just yesterday, you'd know that Tsw has more players now then it has ever had, sorry but your post is nothing more then a pointless rant filled with false information.
Actually that is false too, 2/3 off all Tsw players are on console and while Dtg were purchased by Focus, Dtg still hold almost complete autonomy over there products, so yes they are allowed to use the old owners name and they still will.
I'm not going to lie even I'm surprised about that one - I would of assumed it would of been 2020-2021 during the pandemic but oh well.
Yep - completely correct. Some could argue OP also meant TSC as they mentioned that in the original post but even then yeah - this entire thread is just more fake news then most news outlets.
The post was made by Dtg Alex in the Tsw4 spoiler alert thread if you would like to read what he said? (sorry I don't know how to tag posts myself) it also contains more details about the Focus Entertainment purchase too.
Worst take of the month award for July 2023 goes to this thread. Congrats! Also on a side note - no need to be personal and attacking Matt. He's passionate, maybe even too passionate, about TSW and trains. I'm happy someone like Matt is an exectutive producer. Also on another side note - this is the suggestions forum. Your thread is very wrong here. Maybe in future think before you write
You have to laugh at threads that present opinions as facts, then tell people to check their facts and fail to present anything factual at all. Personally I don’t think it’s been a good year for DTG in terms of quality DLC. The only 2 routes I’ve enjoyed are Niddertalbahn and MML (and that is only after Mods). Glossop is also nice but it gets dull quickly. I’ve found myself still playing SEH and BML mostly and do enjoy the 700. I think TSC and TSW have a long future. I watched an ATS video this week and the Flirt they are working on for TSC looks to really up the level of TSC locos. I’m not thrilled about a potential paid update to TSW but if I don’t want the routes then they’ll be practically giving it away in a sale in a few months. If I do want the routes then that probably covers the price. TSC and TSW are far from dead, I’m enjoying TSW as much and TSC more than ever.
This thread slots in rather nicely to the "So bad/ill-informed/stupid it's funny" category. The truth is:
....what? How is this statement meant to make any sense? You do realise a not insignificant part of why a publisher buys a studio is to get their hands on their intellectual property and branding, to be able to use their trademarks, etc. Right? It's not like those rights vanish into the aether in a puff of smoke when the publisher buys the studio.
Matt is an absolute angel, if we had anyone else as an EP, the game wouldn’t have probably lived on, Matt is an absolutely great person. DTG may not be the best company but to blame Matt is absurd as he has done so much for the game. He’s such a great person
Well dead I wouldn't say directly yes of course it has become very quiet around TSW but DTG is also working on something big (possibly against something English) but wait and see what happens in the future. Yes, maybe Train Sim World 4 will come out soon, but maybe something else, but my tip is my patience
