this thread is going to be the 3 flagship routes that I want for TSW3, lets start UK: WCML South: London Euston to Northampton Route Length: 63 miles Take to the tracks of one of the most important railway corridors in the UK, and operate a mix of express, stopper, commuter and freight services with TSW3, WCML South Locos Included Class 350 Desiro in London Northwestern Livery Class 390 Pendolino In Avanti West Coast Livery Class 66 In Freightliner Livery German: Bahnstrecke Riesa To Leipzig Hurry along Germany’s oldest long-distance railway from the densely packed city of Leipzig, and out far east via Wurzen and Riesa into historic countryside with TSW3, Riesa To Leipzig Route Length: 39 Miles Locos Included: DB BR 411 "ICE T" DB BR 146.2 In DB Traffic Red Livery DB BR 422 Talent 2 in DB Red Livery DB BR 1442 Talent 2 in S Bahn Mitteldeutschland Livery DB BR 101 In DB Red Livery US: Tehachapi Pass: Mojave - Bakersfield Route Length: 68 Miles Tehachapi! The name and the place stand among the pantheon of American railroading. And now, the legendary and rugged rail line shared by Union Pacific and BNSF comes to TSW3 The Locos: AC4400CW in Union Pacific Livery ES44AC in Union Pacific Livery ES44DC in BNSF Livery
Living along the ECML all my life I would prefer the EC but I would settle for WC as it does go into this strange place which still exists today... north of London.
Great idea. My TSW3 base routes Germany to Netherlands 156 km 96 mi Hollandstrecke Duisburg Utrecht Finally makes Duisburg Hbf busy with International Trains RE5s to Emmerich Spoiler: Hollandstrecke Duisburg Utrecht Unique Feature Trains on this route must support 15kv 25kv AC 1.5KV DC PZB ETCS ATB EG NG to run Duisburg Hbf to Utrecht via Oberhausen Hbf & Arnhem Zevenaar Emmerich Am Rhein Voltage Change. Allows the operation of 6,000 Metric Ton Trains Faals Fallrs Falnqqs 130 C-Akv trains Comes with NS Dutch Railways BR193 Coradia Stream DB BR408 DB BR146.0 781 786 766.2 Dostos Alt paint are VVO S-Bahn Dresden Saxonia with matching 780 785 (RE5 Duisburg Emmerich) DB BR189 Rallion Red with C-Akv UK Calder Valley Line US NJ Transit Raritan Valley Line or LIRR Babylon Branch Cover is Coradia Stream DB BR408 Class 195 ALP-45DP or M9 LIRR
My tsw3 base routes: Germany: Frankfurt to Mannheim Distance: 44 Miles(71km) Time taken: 52 mins high speed Operators: TGV, ICE, SBAHN, REGIO Rolling Stock: TGV Europduplex (German version)(Layer?) ICE 4/BR407 br423 + 422 S bahn Dostos US: New York Penn - Philadelphia 30th st. Distance : 82miles (133km) Time Taken: usually 1hr 15 mins Operator: Amtrak Acela UK: Hull - Retford Distance: 38 Miles (62km) Time taken: 1hr and a quarter Operators: Hull Trains, Transpennine, Northern Rolling stock: class 180 (HT) class 802 (HT) class 185 (TPE) class 150 (Northern)
My ideas: -US: -BNSF Cajon Subdivision: Barstow-San Bernardino -Length: 82 miles -Locos: BNSF ET44C4, BNSF GP60 or GP60M-3, Amtrak P42DC Genesis -DLCs: ATSF #3751 4-8-4, BNSF SD70ACeP4-T4, BNSF SD40-2 -UK: -East Coast Mainline (don't know which section) -Length (depends on the part of the route) -Locos: Class 55 Deltic, Class 37, Class 08 -DLCs: Flying Scotsman #4472 -Germany: I don't have any ideas for German routes -Locos: Class V200, Class 232 "Ludmilla," Class 52 Kriegslok
Class 232 Ludmilla with Class 52 Kriegslok do have a Matching route it's Chemnitz Reichenbach (70 km 45 mi distance Spoiler: Chemnitz Name GDR era It was called Karl Marx Stadt ) GDR era since East Germany used steam right up to the German Reunification
It will be interesting but purely guessing here… For the UK it will be something like Liverpool to Manchester, bearing in mind they can recycle some of the assets from SoS. Germany, Koln to Koblenz down the Rhine Valley. USA - LA Metrolink up to Palmdale. Of course they might surprise us and put a Japanese or Swiss route in as the core, but I doubt it. What I can pretty much guarantee though is that none of the included routes will be very exciting or iconic, just a gut feeling I have.
I'm going to avoid the Big 3. Switzerland Spiez to Brig via Kandersteg - Spectacular route crossing the Swiss Alps - lots of traffic if set before the base tunnel Japan Keiyo Line - Commuter line in Eastern Tokyo running into Chiba - mix of service types - tunnelled approach to Tokyo station. Canada Something based on Canadian Mountain passes - One for the North American Freight fans, with a mix of fast running and 25mph winding. One from each continent - I'd suggest something in South America but I don't have the knowledge there.
Obvious candidate for South America is the Peruvian zigzag line from Lima to Huancayo, or as far as the 50 mile budget will take you. Problem is last time I checked the passenger train runs once or twice a month and I would guess any freight on an as required sporadic basis. Unless TSW3 brings radical changes to how mountainous routes are crafted and appear then probably too much for the game to handle. My smart money is actually on another bland southern/south eastern route for the UK with third rail Electrostars. A flat lands German route with DB red and Dosto cab car and another flat NE USA 30 mile section of commuter route.
Im sorry but I don't think tsw2 needs more freight routes at the moment. It needs more passenger routes using brand new trains instead of recycled trains. Also Riesa to Leipzig seems way to short. Personally I think there are better options
How about Duisburg Oberhausen Arnhem Utrecht via Zevenaar Emmerich. That solves the issue of recycled rolling stock by introducing DB BR1429 tri voltage trains ICNG NS Dutch Railways Arnhem Utrecht Centraal Entire 156km route DB BR408 DB BR189 146.0 Emmerich to Duisburg RE5. Spoiler: 146.0 alt paints These are NRW Region or Dresden VVO special paints
No modern rubbish thank you. As DTG cannot be bothered to do anything of a half decent length. Paddington - Oxford or Swindon, BR blue. Swansea - Milford Haven, with Pembroke Dock branch, BR blue. Euston - Birmingham BR blue.
I would love to see the Lotschberg route but unless it's set before the Lotschberg Base Tunnel opened (2007), you would spend a lot of time in the tunnel. Pre-2007, it would be a great route with lots of very nice BLS (and SBB) electrics.
Remember, there are hundreds of other TS Classic routes. Would much rather see DTG do something like NJT or MBTA, if I'm being realistic. Routes like the North Jersey Coast Line, Morristown Line, and Main/Bergen County Lines would be cool to see. An MBTA route from the North Side would also be cool. Something like the Fitchburg Line, or the Lowell/Haverhill Lines. If I'm being unrealistic, I'd want to see routes like DC-Baltimore with MARC traffic, Miami-WPB with Tri-Rail traffic, Brightline, a Metra route like the Racetrack, Rock Island District, or Milwaukee District West, a Metrolink route such as the Antelope Valley and San Bernardino Lines, or my local train the Pacific Surfliner.
The problem of the base tunnel a portion of it is single track. Therefore you have to wait for another train to pass you inside the base tunnel then go. Old route is twin tracks with car shuttle train services which is a new feature in game if added. In addition to the mentioned electric train services
I would definitely like to see the MBta Fitchburg and Haverhill/Lowell line on TSW 2 for the next American route for TSW 2.
Well that comes down to licensing. Railroads in the US are privately owned, not like db in Germany. A lot of us tocs don't want their livery to be in game at all for various reasons. Example being metra, marc, trirail and many other popular operators. They only have licenses for amtrak, mta, caltrain but that's only one route, mbta, and njt although they don't have a route yet. Unless the tocs say yes, they can't create any dlc for it. Freight is easier since it's basically everywhere. Ns, csx, up, hopefully bnsf since the license is global now,
Route: S-Bahn Berlin S41/S42 ,,Ringbahn" Stations:27 Distance:37km Trains: BR 481/ BR 482 Redesign and unmod, BR 480, BR 485/BR 885 and BR 483/484
There is a problem with that route DTG must know how S-bahn Berlin ZBS train stop works. On the other hand Hamburg S-Bahn PZB System familiar to the Development team Spoiler: For console players in order to get PZB Sifa Lights Wipers a keyboard must be plugged in to Get Dedicated PZB Sifa Lights Wipers Buttons. Something that you are going to need for Hamburg S-Bahn also Berlin S-Bahn. A key on the keyboard to accelerate the Accelerate D Key Slow Down Stop on EMU
if this US route is passenger or not, imo, its up to DTG what they choose. US passenger routes are also impacted with licensing. however, that does not mean they cant have the potential to make a US passenger route, its entirely possible.
There are 5 North American freight routes in tsw. One can argue that there are actually 6 since Peninsula Corridor is a mix of passenger and freight. There are only 4 North American Passenger routes of which 2 basically use recycled trains from previous routes. So why should there be more freight routes when there are plenty of freight routes available and when there is more freight than passenger?
I mean they do have an NJ Transit license so i would suspect that the next U.S passenger route would be NJ Transit. DTG can also try to get other licenses if possible.
Now hear me out; I’m going to put forward something which may be a good idea but also may be a terrible one. TSW3 - Crossing Boarders As the caption says, this one is crossing international boarders. The routes: Belgium/Netherlands - Rotterdam to Antwerp Length: 80km (approximately) Rollingstock: SNCF TGV Thalys PBKA, NS Traxx and DB Class 189 This route is a route which covers the Thalys high speed and the more local route from Antwerp to Rotterdam. This includes a voltage changeover at Roosendaal from Belgian 3kV DC to Dutch 1.5kV DC, with the Highspeed being 25kV AC. Denmark/Sweden - Køge Nord to Malmö Length: 90km (approximately) Rollingstock: DSB IR4, DB Class 185, SJ X2000 This route covers Denmark and Sweden between Køge Nord outside of Copenhagen and Malmö over the boarder in Sweden. This route would have a great mix of local passenger services, faster services and freights. The routes main feature is the Øresund bridge which spans over the sea between Denmark and Sweden. America/Canada - Flint to Sarnia Length: 75miles (approximately) Rollingstock: CN ES44AC This route runs freight from Sarnia in Ontario to Flint in Michigan. I couldn’t find much on this route but I know that it has a high freight flow through the tunnel goes under the river that splits the US and Canada. Would be good for those who are interested in freight. (apologies for the sloppiness in presentation)
You left out Germany to the Netherlands international Route. Best option for that is HDU Spoiler: HDU full Name Hollandstrecke Duisburg Utrecht 156km broken down as Utrecht Arnhem 57 km 99km Duisburg Oberhausen Emmerich Zevenaar Arnhem Trains on that route must support PZB ETCS ATB EG NG Voltage changes at Zevenaar (25kv to 1.5kv DC) & Emmerich Am Rhein (25 kv 50hz to 15kv 16.7 hz AC). Changes HRR at Mulheim an der Ruhr Styrum for the S3 from Oberhausen being behind a Bochum Ehrenfeld to Zevenaar Freight. Duisburg Hbf AI to the Netherlands. HDU can be merged with HRR to form Hollandstrecke Duisburg/Bochum-Utrecht.
I thought about this one as it’s a route I’ve been to see quite a few times, but I was trying to avoid the big 3 (obviously unavoidable with the US though). It’s a much better suggestion tbf.
In TSW 3 I would like to have the routes: London Hammersmith & Circle line New York-Providence Eifelstrecke or Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Frankfurt https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/cologne-frankfurt-high-speed-line.27855/page-3#post-493577 https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/eifelbahn-cologne-trier-suggestion.38019/#post-485653
In TSW3 I would like GEML: London Liverpool Street - Ipswich with class 360 MML: St Pancreas Thameslink - Bedford or St Pancreas Thameslink - Sutton with class 700, which would also feature the Wimbledon loop Edit: SWML: London Waterloo - Southampton - Bournemouth with class 450 & 444 I would also like to see a class 171 or 170 in TSW3, 170 possibly for SWML Misc: Station announcements for arriving & departing trains (if possible) Note: Will edit if I think of anymore
What rolling stock did you go on for Hollandstrecke Duisburg Utrecht via Oberhausen and Arnhem? If made for TSW2 Schnellfahrstrecke Köln Aachen gives 406 for the route TSW 3 DB BR408 as the High speed train for Duisburg Oberhausen Arnhem Utrecht.
I was thinking of the NS VIRM, DB Class 189 and ICMm but I’m not sure how far they stretch into or even if they go into Germany.
NS VIRM ICMm these can only go upto Arnhem Centraal Because they do not have the necessary equipment to run past Zevenaar 25kv voltage Change. DB BR189 Utrecht to Duisburg Hbf & Bochum Ehrenfeld via Zevenaar Emmerich then the big Junction at Mülheim Styrum where the Bochum Ehrenfeld freight train follows S3 from Oberhausen Hbf. Rotterdam to Duisburg & Bochum Ehrenfeld services start at Zevenaar because those locomotives are ETCS PZB ATB EG NG 1.5kv DC 25kv 50hz & 15kv 16.7hz AC capable. Spoiler: DB BR189 unique feature Some of the locomotions actually use a C-Akv Automatic Coupler or Faals Falrrs Iron Ore transport Coal Falnqqs 130. That way you tell them from the normal version is a yellow Warning Triangle. These types of services are actually common on Hollandstrecke Duisburg Utrecht Zevenaar Emmerich Oberhausen Duisburg Hbf section There is another good International route that can fit the game L37 Aachen Liege Germany to Belgium. Spoiler: L37 Aachen Liege Unique feature There are actually older Belgian locomotives that can run into Germany which means you can run them upto Aachen Rothe Erde then Couple to a waiting German freight train. Ruhr Sieg Nord DB BR232 is also capable of using TBL Memor II Belgium like SNCB/NMBS HLD55 which is also PZB LZB Capable
My ideal routes for the TSW 3 route core bundle England London Undergrounds Circle Line Hammersmith-Edgeware Road 17 miles set in the present with the S-Stock Train fleet. Germany Berlin U-Bahn U2 line from Pankow-Ruhleben. the line is a 12 mile route. the rolling stock can be used on this is the BVG class H train sets and the BVG Class F train sets. U.S.A MTA New York City Subway 7 train flushing local/express line Flushing Main Street- 34 Street Hudson Yards.
If we do get the Leipzig-Reisa route from TS Classic into TSW 3 will this be linked to the Reisa-Dresden line in the Rush Hour Pack as a the First Exstension to a TSW route in the game.
1. A section of the WCML in the early 90s, with 87+Mk3 and an EMU appropriate to the region. Either Euston - MK or Glasgow to Carlisle. 2. A rhine route, probably Koeln to Koblenz mainline with ICE 1 3. USA I'm not sure - maybe the NJ Transit/NEC route
The flagship routes I would like. 1. USA- nec new York penn to philadelhia. Bombardier alp 45a, acela express and acs 64. 2. UK- ecml London King's Cross to Peterborough Class 800, Class 91, class 43, class 717, class 387. 3. Germany- duisburg to koln. Br 425, br 101, ICE 2, br 146, br 766.2 and other German commuters
