i think this is a big clue to an anouncement
A weekend teaser would be nice
It's an announcement in itself.
Next week's roadmap will be at least slightly less boring than the last two
Even in the YouTube thumbnail the lighting looks terrible
Sorry i missed your reply. Just looked that up, sounds a bit scarey, buddy. Mine is all anxiety and stress related. So at least i am not physically debilitated like your good self.
I have been beta testing Trainz since Trs 2004, i don't even think about the NDA. Just keep your gob shut and everything is hunky dory.
Don't tell me Mrs M, made you watch it.
Here's the thing though, and it fits in with a trend- apparently there is some juicy information which DTG is preparing to reveal next week which they wouldn't release this week. However, it appears that this juicy info (let's call it Floyd) is already known to them this week. So the question is- and this is a legitimate question, DTG Alex , - why is Floyd being withheld until some calendar date, rather than when Floyd is known to be the case? I think that this lies at the heart of the transparency issue: DTG doling out information on a timetable dictated by... what? The marketing department? The alignment of the planets?
Because the stars have to align and everything be in place to announce such things. That's part of PR...
Unfortunately if you're part of DTG you also have to consider the audience, and given already today I have seen people wanting announcements of what the announcement is (that announcement that's only hinted at 42 minutes into a lets play) you do the math... If they get announcements wrong (ie wrong time, don't know the complete details or have the right people answering the questions) then it goes "tits up"...
Don't need another Rush Hour on our hands, do we?
They go round the table until everyone agrees, like…
Retro - GO
Fido - GO
Guidance - GO
Control - GO
Marketing - NO GO, need more screenshots.
That may have to do with the availability part. For example, maybe Matt was unavailable on 8/2 but really needs to be there for the "interesting" part. Hey, then the clue to your Floyd would be "Pink"! Well done!
It seems to me that they like what is happening on the forum and they enjoy it. And they decided to extend it for another week.
Looks like the 9th august it is. Thanks for waiting for my birthday DTG staff. I appreciate it
Taken from the FB page. What's that train on Aug 8th?
Yep that does it, TSW2 is dead!
Honestly don't think it's a hint, it's as generic as you can get. However the only german or us train that would look like that would be like a metro or subway?
ok, here are my thoughts on it
the emojis probably dont mean anything. there arent many train emojis anyway.
the date of the 8th is coloured in with a train, could the TSW3 announcement be the 8th, and the roadmap on the 9th?
if those emojis do mean something though. could it be a TGV route, a steam route and a metro route
those are just my thoughts though
I hope the future of TSW will not be more Pringles ads
My guess is the emojis have a certain meaning
The tgv could mean Karlsruhe-Straßburg as the german route
Sos is included in the bundle
The Subway could mean nyc Subway
And the new Feature of TSW3 might be border crossings
the future of TSW....
we will see how this ages i guess..
Routes don't matter, emoji don't matter.
Only ONE thing matters.
Does TSW3 Address the worst core issues of TSW2?
This is probably another unreal engine step up with a few routes included.
I'm wondering if we might see another Amtrak route, something like NYC-Trenton with an Acela and/or NJT content. With the track upgrades complete, it would be a good all-around route with a mix of traffic and speeds (new top track speed is 160mph)
im hoping for one of the UK high speed mainlines in this one
Indeed. as I just posted in one of the other threads that has popped up. I'm less concerned about new content than core fixes and improvements.
and a German route with focus on freight!
(Nice profile pic btw XD)
If it is a bundle than i am 99% that German route would be Riesa - Leipzig as it was relesed a couple months ago for TSC
But we will se what it is...
I dont think so because people would Start to say they could merge it with the existing Route
I highly doubt they implement route und extensions with TSW3
There really isn't a reason to upgrade the unreal engine since the most recent version out there doesn't benefit tsw at all since it's only for cinematics and camera works lol.
I don’t think we will see either Frankfurt or Leipzig in the near future. Especially Leipzig, as it is the largest station in Germany- and I don’t think I have to remind you what happened with Munich hahaha
i also found out that, we started with IOW and we ended with IOW. we have basically looped back to the start. like a boomerang, the original IOW was the first route in TSW2. and the IOW2022 is the last route. quite impressive actually
I think it's the Hype Train but I'm not sure
Well the new guy who just got hired into the dev team wants to bring frankfurt into the game, making it playable, etc. It was mentioned in the stream where he made an appearance. Nothing is impossible.
Hahaha no no you don't
I mean, I would love to see Frankfurt! E.g. from Frankfurt to Marburg :0
finally some action
I'm pretty sure Bakerloo and SKA were the first TSW2 routes
Thank you very much
IOW was the first DLC for it though.
Very exciting times- looking forward to Tues.
Hope they've made it worth the wait!
i thought the GWE was the first DLC or was it second?
Not for TSW2. GWE was the second route released for TSW1, after CSX Heavy Haul (Sand Patch)
So IOW came out before GWE on TSW2? Wow, my timeline is messed up
TSW (aka TSW1)- first released in 2017 with CSXHH. First DLCs were GWE and Rapid Transit
TSW2020 (2019)- original routes were MSB, LIRR and NTP, with repeats of GWE and CSXHH
TSW2 (2020) - Bakerloo, SKA and remastered Sand Patch
So the lighting will probably still be broken?
Quite a lot of fixes being requested (rightfully), but I think one that gets overlooked a lot, but would be greatly appreciated, is the deadzones on analog sticks for controllers, being either reduced or adjustable.
Matt has brought a fix for this up before, quite a while ago, however we are still stuck with the horrible clunky deadzones.
At the very least I’d like to see mouse support for console.
I was talking more about the actual unreal version (4.26 currently). We might see some sort of improvement to tsw but we won't know for sure until they actually announce it.
Future of train sim world and then we get what we already have seen before
I predict the future to be 40 mile routes, electrostars, TRAXX units & the same usual fleet of US locomotives.
