Some are saying there is 3 or 4 routes in there. USA, Germany/Austria, UK, Swiss?

I made a theory that one of the routes appears to be Munich - Garmisch Bahn (Based on the clues that I've spotted so far) in another Thread.
    If you think about it, M = Munich, G = Garmisch, B = Bahn.
Based on the clues that I've posted in another thread I feel like this is 100% one of the routes coming to TSW

Edit: Quote from the other thread.

Well it's quite a good one in TSC...

Indeed it is. All but the damn Zugspitze Bahn station which is non-existant in TSC, I hope it will exist in TSW.

Problem with that is that München - Garmisch is only about 50 miles. Unless they extend the route to Innsbruck, but that's still only 70.

Sure except... where is the tunnel? I can't find it on Google Maps. And it's only 100km long.

    Cheers

I do speculate that the "90 miles" Image is a UK route (as the stock image was from UK).
So it may or may not be associated with my theory of the MGB.

If I'm going to jump on the speculation bandwagon, I'll say that I doubt the TSW2 routes will be brought over. For one, it seems like a heck of a lot of work to upgrade everything - clouds, lighting, effects, dynamic scenary. Also, when DTG have released an entirely new game, as opposed to a core update (i.e. TSC > TSW2020 > TSW2), it's brought such significant changes that old routes are incompatible. Last time, we only lost NEC, but maybe this time it'll be judged to be too much work for the preservation team to convert everything (we're maybe already at the stage where it's too much work just updating the existing routes).

If they announced as much tomorrow, I imagine it'd be quite unpopular. As has happened before with the planned limited Preserved Collection support, and charging for Creators Club, DTG might have to do some damage control and backpedal on such a decision.

Hopefully, everything I've just written is completely wrong and the TSW3 announcement tomorrow gives us everything (realistically) that we hope for.

That's the major thing that boogles me. The section from Munich to Garmisch doesn't have a single tunnel.
But don't forget that we are not getting just a German route.
UK and US routes might be released too.

It's certainly not impossible that the older routes will still run as-is, just without the new features. Most of the TSW1 routes endured for ages with the old skybox, alongside TSW2 routes with the new one.

Think of it as being like running backwards-compatible XBox 360 games

Unless they are running it all the way down via Mittenwald to Innsbruck. There are definitely tunnels on the Austrian side

I feel like the rocks on the left side indicate a US route
The mountain in distance indicate a route from Munich to Garmisch (based on my evidence).
The tunnel and the rail tracks? I am not sure what it is
The trees at the right side? That's what I am assuming to be German but in that case, where is UK??
It creates a perfectly vicious circle.

if it is the railway to Garmisch Partenkirchen, i wonder if they have modeled the cable car up one of the mountains there....

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wank_(mountain)

Now to wait someone to report me for using a naughty word... when it's the actual name of the mountain, and hence the cable car up it is legitamly called the 'WankBahn'

The 3rd rail could symbolise the Moorgate branch on a London to Peterborough route, which would take that nearer 90 miles.

Are you referring to the Zugspitzbahnhof?

Could be, and it's what I hope, but it was the Preservation Crew's original remit to convert all those routes from TSW to TSW2 - they didn't just work automatically, and one route couldn't be 'ported' at all (or at least not without a complete re-write). I don't understand the technicalities, and what was such a big change that justified 'TSW2' in the first place, but why create a new game if there isn't a fundamental change in the engine?

Again, I hope I'm wrong. I'd love to see Arosalinie with volumetric clouds and atmospheric haze, among all the other new features. It would completely change the route.

After my mess of edited and deleted comment, I want to leave this before I got to bed to see how terribly it ages tomorrow:
    • 90 miles is related to the UK route (possibly a 90 miles WCML section with the Avant Class 390 and a new commuter EMU)
    • The 25kV route is in Germany (possibly to Garmish) or somewhere in that area (Austria and Switzerland are also possible) - maybe another ETCS route?
    • No Idea about the American route. Perhaps something BNSF or one of its subsidiaries.

How do we know it's 25kV? If in the Germany/Austria/Switzerland region, wouldn't it be 15kV?

    Cheers

The OHLE looks like 25kV, this is an example from HS1 3ENEFA1JGJONWWJR1P44.jpg

EDIT: NO! Not helpful, I'm not 100% sure anymore

I'll just say they recently negotiated the worldwide rights for BNSF- hard to imagine they didn't have TSW in mind when doing so.

If this map is accurate then there are few places where it could be 25kV, especially in mountainous regions.

Yes... that's why I found it incredible that we haven't managed to find this place yet...

I've skimmed through cab rides of Brennerbahn, Gottarbahn and even a Munich-Garmish but nothing... perhaps if I sat there and watched them in their entirety I might have found something but I'd be done by the time the announcement is released... so not sure if it's a good idea.

Another thing is the third rail makes no sense at all, and is the only reason why I'm inclined to think that the theory about this scene being a blend of different nationalities is right.

I've scoured the rail lines around Zugspitze and there are no tunnels that match from any side of the mountain. I'm more inclined to believe this is in Switzerland than in Austria.

I can't make heads or tails of it. It's definitely a 3rd rail and not a mirage; it's clearly slightly higher up on the far track and on the outside of the main rails so I don't believe for a second that it's a guard rail or weird "reflection". Knowing the track gauge would help as well.

    Cheers

It’s 99% not in Switzerland. There are only two routes that would fit at least a bit to this scenery, and those are the Gotthardbahn and the Lötschbergbahn. I know both of them really good and none of them has got a tunnel that looks at least a bit like this one

25kV is also the voltage used on all LGVs in France and Paris by RER

    So far noticed on stream;
Clouds moving, foliage falling or snow, hot air balloons moving, train in tunnel, ambience noises or birds and a animal and advert sign of ambience, sparks advert sign, and birds

found a new one, what appears to be steam train smoke covers whole screen then picture in general either changes or resets then I think I noticed a different train in tunnel (just saw it again and the train looked like it had white colour) but much more unclear image than other train, and also sounded like an ICE sound

could be wrong but it could be 3 trains I’ve seen come through that tunnel but at the least it definitely seems like 2

noticed when clouds move light changes

    noticed umbrella come across screen

    kick up challenge advert

JD wanted poster stating “I will find you, i will leak you”

What if... the 3rd rail in the image is a dual gauge segment?

I did think the track on the left looked a bit narrow...
But I don't know if the difference between the rails is big enough.

Im not sure why so many people think that’s the Zugspitze. I grew up near it and it doesn’t look like that. If it resembles any Alp I’m familiar with it’s the Wetterstein

Because of the irregular fastners on the outer rail. It's slightly elevated from the track (evident from what I believe are the visible insulators) and only occur every other sleeper, suggesting it's not meant to be load-bearing.

The video has changed now and the third rail has disappeared from the near track and the weather is gloomier.

I keep thinking that scene might be the new diorama to replace the shed we’ve had.

3rd rail is still there. The view point is deeper, which makes the 3rd-rail cover the normal rail

It's still there. The camera angle is different.

There is also a different train coming out of the tunnel. It sounds faster and the headlight looks different (more... vertical? rather than just a round bulb).

Dimmer lighting might just be because it's later in the day.
But there is certainly a heavier overcast. Dynamic weather? Those are definitely volumetric clouds.

I’ve noticed the train in tunnel is operating on left hand side tracks, it seems unlikely they are diverted perhaps

Yeah, it’s just obscuring the near running rail now. I must get this glass eye polished some time.

Just saw a very fake-looking umbrella floating around, which reads to me as hinting dynamic weather is now indeed 'a thing'.

Do you think it's a stretch to say that since now the "high speed train" sound and the EMU sounds are playing together this is a mixed use line used by both high speed and commuter trains, like for example SKA? Or is it just tin foil hat level speculation?

Munich – Garmisch-Partenkirchen on TS came with an ICE-T and a 2 car BR426, and they both kind of fit the sound bytes that are looping right now, but this might just be a bad case of confirmation bias.

at this point I’m guessing the whole scene isn’t actual but a mix of 3, I think they’ve made the train go invisible at a certain point and it’s on a looped track

could be explaining the sound differences

Just for the sake of transparency. Talking with people on the YT chat :o they have sort of convinced me this could be 15kV as well. I'm still not 100% convinced, but I am no longer sure about it being 25kV.

    Sorry
