The question in the topic title says enough I think.... Is there any interest in such minor changes to watch in a livestream.... I can imagine that this part of the game for the most a thing is that is very easy to understand and what will this brings on extra information that we can not know.... please share you're opion... For me personally it's waste of time and it is very clear... if not a short video can bring al this minor changes in less time than a boring stream. For commercial things it's maybe a extra bit of income but we are not dumm... right?!
It shows them off in action, so I will say yes. I would like to see how they really work and what to expect rather than going in blind and not knowing what to do. It won't be its own entire stream. It will be paired with vorarlberg
Okay that's cool! But it's not combined with the Vorarlberg Stream. That's the reason why I make this poll... it's a standalone stream
For some it will be interesting. For others, not. don't watch the streams that don't interest you? Or do... because we try and give as much info as we can and you never know what unrelated or loosely related useful gem you might miss. That's my sales pitch. I am not in sales. Matt.
Personally, I don't have time to fiddle with the Editor or the so-called Creative Tools. Maybe I will take a photo or two, should be better than taking screenshots. However, I sincerely hope that these streams (and more like them) will be helpful to the people who have the time and the inclination to create content for all of us to enjoy.
I was only curious how many people are interested in this kind of content. It's not very clear for me if there is a large playerbase and it's more like friendly talk instead of all the toxic topics thats opend with all the same over dramatically reactions. For me TSW4 is absolutely stunning and I love the game and for sure I will watch the stream but it's the one with less excitement. But you never no what I can learn Hahaha
At least if you do a JD and leak a load of things meaning you are sacked, you'll know not to get a job in sales!
Oh, I had that mixed up with another stream that got teamed up with vorarlberg, but my point still stands. It is to show off the brand new features in action.
Yes I think it will be good to have the stream on creative tools, apart from the usual good from extra streams before content releases, it’s always better to see exactly what’s on offer, rather than expecting what’s not there or not finding out something useful I suppose it’s also like with those who are only interested in Englands content, it’s still good to have the antelope stream etc, whether those want to watch it or not, for the benefit of those interested.
Personally I would prefer a written wiki or manual to streams or abstracted YT clips, but will take what we can get.
I might be Me personally I like to watch such things in front of the TV. I notice that I do this for Cities Skylines. If I'm looking for inspiration I watch some CS builder vids.
Honestly im genuinely going to try and commit myself to make something in it. Just because its something I love in TSC so im gonna watch the stream 100%
From a nerd perspective, yes - if a live stream was done showing the process of making a route from scratch (nothing complicated, say a loop with two branches) to making it ready for playing in-game, it would effectively be a "behind-the-scenes" developer video, since the tool is identical to that used in-house, and would serve its second purpose as a tutorial for those that have never touched an IDE, and thirdly to show the difficulty in producing anything at all. Most of my development days are long over and all of it was done in a text editor in my teens, so modern toolsets interest me but only from an academic point of view (due to a lack of creativity and hence motivation). Seeing how its done in house may spur me to look further into it Note: This refers to the editor specifically
It's strange in that since retiring I seem to have much less time to build routes when I was working! Probably because at least until I jumped ship to NR, I was taking the laptop in on night shift and doing a bit of route crafting during the quiet hours. However a year or two in at NR they started to take a dim view of people bringing in portable electrical devices, even on a Saturday night when it was absolutely dead. Anyhow, back on topic I will eagerly take whatever instructional material is available in whatever format.
Creating timetables will be my main interest, learning slowly and putting into practice on the WSR route then hopefully build up the knowledge and skills to make fully blown busy SoS, NTP and TVL timetables
That will probably be my first dip of the toe in the water! Also key will be how the tools run on the laptop. Currently sat here with the TRS22 Surveyor open and the fans are howling like a banshee, accompanied by the wife moaning about the noise.
I was under the impression that editing existing content will be almost impossible, due to UE "cooking" process.
The creative tools stream is a separate stream from the Editor. So that's not the point of my question but I can understand that you love the Editor!
You can absolutely make your own timetables for the DLC routes, same as you can make your own scenarios. You can't take our timetable and expand/change etc though, you'd need to start again - but tbh, taking an existing timetable and doing anything more than minor changes to it is....ppaaaaiinfful, trust me. It's almost always easier to start again Matt.
I believe the Editor is for pc gamers an absolute game changer..... it will bring so much more mods with high quality. If look at train sim community website you can find now already good mods but with the official Editor it will brings way more mods and fun
I'm curious. The Bus also released an Unreal editor and that one looked very complicated to use. Wonder if DTG have gotten it more "streamlined"
There isn't much of a way to make the editor easier to use, i'm afraid, our editor is still vey much Unreal Editor.
Would there be any considerations to implementing a user made timetable into the base game? e.g. if someone made a much improved timetable for a route like NTP or TVL, and then came to DTG saying 'I've made this, do you want to use it?', would that be a hard no or something that may be considered?
