I've checked the Creators Club and I can't seem to find any custom created locomotives, rolling stock or routes? I'm really not looking for reskins as these require me to purchase the route the locomotive or rolling stock is from!
those won't be availabe for creators club. check https://www.trainsimcommunity.com for upcoming custom trains etc, so far none got released, one of the reasons being the editor not featuring the cook button, which makes you unable to basically export the mods
Well, that has just made TSW 4 hopeless! Please DTG, allow custom created routes/locos and rolling stock to be added via the Creators Club... PLEASE!!!
Why, whats the problem with that? If its available via creators club DTG could get in legal trouble really fast, for example a railroad company has not issued a license to DTG, somebody mods a train from them into the game and you can easily download it via the game itself via one click. This would be troublesome as you could argue the non licensed train is included in the game itself or something along the lines of that. Trainsimcommunity is a great side, the mod manager is super easy to use that even apes can use it, so I don't see a problem with that.
factual (I love this word), plus, you can also just easily install it by moving it into the DLC folder, on many mod entrys on the page the path to the DLC folder is instructed. so I don't see any issue with that aswell.
and what made TSW4 hopeless? just because you can't use CC for it? ouch. half the community is working on lots of lovely stuff and its not the end of the world if you have to install it manually. DTG has no right to make it doable via CC anyways as already said, due to licensing issues and most modders would probably decline anyways, or however what would work, up to your imagination. and consoles are left out anyways
As has been said, all editor content will be published through third-party websites like TrainSimCommunity mentioned above. As for when there will be any community-made routes and rolling stock, I think it's gonna be a while. The editor has been out for a relatively short period of time and there is still very little documentation on how to do things.
Very common with DTG! People are still waiting for TSC to write better tutorials and guides. I won't hold my breath waiting for DTG to write tutorials and guides for TSW 4! My skin colour will be blue
What about Train Simulator Classic? They have branded trains and haven't got into licensing trouble? The devs of the DLC could obtain licensing then it wouldn't be such a problem
