I had this issue until I realised that I had the dual sense speaker turned off in my console settings. Once I sorted that it was fine.
This was a very useful tip. Never thought the dual sense controller could be the problem. My controller speakers are always turned off ..... they sound like a burp in a tin can. Instead of increasing the controller volume, turning off the controller output in game solved the problem for me. The controller speakers sound should be an option and not the standard. Many thanks.
