Just wanting to know how people with lower end spec PCs are finding TSW4 compared to how TSW3 ran. My specs are nothing special with an i7-9750H, 16gb RAM and Nvidia GTX1650 4gb. I get nothing wild in TSW3 usually settled at around 30fps running at 2560x1440. If a route is more intensive i drop the resolution down a step or possibly even to 1080p if required. Just wondered if things remained the same performance wise when moving from TSW3 to TSW4 or if there was a drop in performance or even an improvement? Cheers guys.
I'm on Ryzen 7 5800 / RTX 3060 / 16 GB RAM, not sure if this is classed "low end" now, but it is at least 4 yrs old. I can't say I notice much difference in performance for TSW3 and 4 using the same settings. The Stutter is always there, comes back to remind you every so often like an old friend or an unwanted ex. I run 1920x1080 FullScreen Ultra settings. One thing you can do, as mentioned elsewhere, is turn the Sky quality down, since it is very demanding. I run that at Medium.
I'm playing on two systems that are pretty low-end by now: PC with i7 4790, GTX 980 4GB, 16GB RAM at 2560x1080 Laptop with i7 8650U, GTX 1060 6GB, 16GB RAM at 3240x2160 I'm using the same custom settings for both, mostly medium with select settings on High (like Foliage) and some on Low (like Sky). That plus DX12 and the Enhanced Lighting mod combined with geloxo's engine.ini tweaks. Can't draw a direct comparison to TSW3 as I skipped 3 altogether and came from TSW2. But even compared to TSW2 performance on old routes is mostly the same, on new routes a bit worse though. But I suppose that's due to the new lighting system that's been in TSW3 already, so I don't think you'll see a noticable difference between 3 and 4. Running at 90% scaling now on my laptop, which is still plenty sharp. Overall quite happy with TSW performance on older PCs, apart from the regular stutters that plague every system.
I play on an even lower system (nvidia quadro p2000 4gb) with an i7 and 24gb memory. On the newer routes with medium settings at 1080p, I can get at most 30fps. Older routes from the tsw2020 era can reach up to 60 with average around 45. So you should be fine with your system which is well above what I use.
