Does anyone else have this pixelation problem with custom liveries? Or does it only happen to me? It's very annoying, it's not worth wasting time repainting if it looks so bad.
Hi,,,in what sense do you mean?. If your on about during just out and about and using a old gen console say then yes you may have some issues. If on PC then again could be your set up etc all depends on what your running on. I had and we all have had similar issues but we have either been able to use it there advantage like I did with using a decal for a GWR anniversary plate. Fine on TSW2 and TSW3 on PS4 you can’t see the writing underneath. But on PS5 then you can see what I’ve used and now see the letters more clearly which I didn’t want to happen. This method was only for effect and saving decals. But now on PS5 those grainy graphics you speak about are way clearer even when playing TSW2 and TSW3. I’ve often been totally taken away by the graphics and as of today they seem even better after the last few days update. So maybe your to hasty to give up. As and I don’t say this with any rudeness but you can see many have done fine lettering and work that even I can fully appreciate the user’s hard work and effort. So I see where you coming from but again if you look at users work on here and CC then I’m sure you will agree that with hard work and dedication like all the effort and talents the community has put in then you will see or get to understand what we as a community have had to overcome. Only then can you appreciate what goes on behind what some think is just making a livery or scenario in two mins. No no It’s more than that. So please don’t take this as criticism towards you. As a new member I will help out where I can and so will the community as a whole if you wish to start making liveries or just need answers. I know how frustrating that can be. We all started somewhere and you’ll never get answers if you don’t ask questions. So as recent member myself I welcome you and if I can help you with anything then please give us a shout. Tbh with I am pretty interested to see if there is something going on. So if you could send me a picture or even better download some of my work and so I can if see they are effected. But at the moment I’m not having issues nor does it seem neither is the community or something would have been said by now. Could be a mod and you may need to let the creator know,,,hence why I am asking just in case. Cheers. Lee (TSLP).
Hello, good morning and Happy Holidays. Thank you very much for your response and sorry for the poor English. The problem I am referring to is the low resolution with which the repaints are saved within the application. While you're in the app it looks correct, but in the game, the slanted lines, letters, etc. They look low resolution and pixelated. It is as if the set of layers were captured in 1024x1024 instead of the original 4096x4096. On PC 1440p it can be seen very clearly, even its repaints. Congratulations on your work, by the way. All the best. JP
Hi sorry for late response,,,all the best to you to during this holiday season. I wish I could help you more as I have no clue as I only use the PS4 or PS5 to do my work. I’ve never owned a PC in my life so I’d be completely lost. So I am sorry if I came across as rude but I did and does sound like the same issues we or some have with resolution issues for like you say. This is the same on PS5 say, they look good in editor but in game especially with the gradients decal those lines are visible. A pain in my back side. Personally I try staying away from them and use different methods now because they such an headache to deal with. Something you may have noticed your self that in the game during different seasons the lighting also differs. So if you have set the weathering in one light during one season if you use during a different time or season then those decals set can appear different. For lettering being pixelated if the weathering decal over laps then I would use a method of body weathering first logos on top with those letters darkened and then a top full layer to blend and give those letters the appearance of being dirty but without the weathering pixelation over the letters. If your curious then I’ve mentioned this process on a help weathering advice posted by another users looking for assistance. I know your PC and I’m on Console but those methods may help you if there is no other options available. Have a good one. And thank you for your kind comments. If you do check that post out and then need any more help then please just give us a shout. Peace Lee (TSLP).
