What I want to know is this is the 390 pendolino modelling accurate to real life in so far as will in game reflect reality in that to get into the driving cabs as the driver we enter through the crew only doors as per real life given that there are no direct cab doors
mate, the models have always been accurate. many trains have no direct cab doors but instead they are elsewhere. Look at the ICE 1, ICE 3, Taurus, but also the class 66 or the TGV.
I fortunately know nothing about US locos, but I would like to know what's wrong with the 112? never really used it so I can't tell so far
They got the headlight size wrong (all three lights should be the same size IRL; they're using the same housing), and the lower lights should be further apart. If you're familiar with DB locos, the TSW rendition screams WRONG. And while DTG staff mentioned it was unfixable, of course mods solved it almost Day 1 (sadly left in the TSW2 version, so probably incompatible nowadays) [mod] Db Br 112 Corrections - Updated | Dovetail Games Forums With US locos, it's a bunch of stuff - missing details on SD70ACe, absolutely incorrectly modeled Hi-Ad trucks (UP AC4400, all GEVOs), etc.
