Why do I have to wait until 16:00 UK time to play? Don’t most downloaded games release at 00:00 on release day?
Well yeah but… doesn’t really make sense if you think about it. Maybe it’s so that if you come back from School you can still do your homework
Something to do with Valve not being awake until the afternoon UK time, though that may be for patches. Perhaps Sony has a similar thing?
Releasing at midnight UK time doesn't make sense for us. It's common practice for new games to release when the dev team making it are around to support.
To be honest, I’m not fussed about the time but I’d argue that you’d have more chance in the day to support the launch from a Midnight release, than a 4pm release…
You guys work some funny hours if 6pm is the best time for the dev team to start fixing a release related problem, I always figured it's because Valve etc. are run out of California, where it would be 10am.
It's dumb- consoles always used to release at midnight- and come on it's not like there's any actual support anyways lmao
Did they fix the DLC re-download problem? I noticed TSW5 took all the DLC from TSW4 and already installed as part of TSW5. Seems like I don't have to download all the DLC. Even people with a dial up mode will be happy about TSW5.
Maybe they'll be working towards the release from 9:00 to 17:00, then Valve will release it at 10:00 California time (I am fairly sure Valve have to release it manually). Then they can help with support on Friday. Unless they decide to work overtime today for some reason.
I believe DTG altered the console release schedule to bring parity to PC/Steam users. They did this quite a while ago and I definitely remember it happening with the release of TSW4.
Oh absolutely. But given they're 8 hours behind in most cases, it's the only real crossover time where we have platform owners and staff at (semi)-reasonable hours.
There was a website (not TSW Mania or TSW4 Fandom) that had layers for routes. Anyone remember what it was called please? It was third party. Wanting to see if it was the TSW5 layers loaded in yet as I caved and bought Deluxe - so trying to find in advance of the release. Thanks
I remember dlc used to get released at exactly midnight at one point.. as i remember downloading the original Cathcart route at exactly 00:00 and doing the class 313 training module so i was ready to go once i got back from work the next day!
