My ISP connection went out (active link but no actual connectivity) so I opted to play TSW5. When the game loads the DLC content the train (depicting load process) moves 2-3 small advances and then seemingly gets stuck. Closing game and restarting didn’t help. Reconfiguring PS5 to not connect to Internet and restarting game did help.
Good morning, Your internet connectivity should not affect the loading time of the game. Loading times can be affected by the amount of Add-Ons installed, I would suspect that it was a coincidence when it started working again after restarting. I tried to repro by unplugging my router from the Internet connection and the problem occurs so it’s an actual problem with TSW5 that should be fixed.
Please be aware that the PlayStation Network (PSN) was down a couple of weekends ago, and players all over the world were unable to launch their games without the PSN. We understand this is a frustrating situation for you, but please reconsider our advice before dismissing it. The evidence suggests this is an isolated issue, therefore it cannot be fixed by a game update. I can personally confirm that TSW 5 is working well offline/online on PS5. So, troubleshooting the issue is going to be your best option.
I would like to bump this thread, just had the same issue tonight on my Ps5. My internet is down due to severe weather- Ps5 connected to wifi but no internet connection. The loading screen hangs after the train animation advances one or two steps, even after waiting about 10 minutes. I was able to resolve the issue by disconnecting my Ps5 from the wifi and reloading the game. I think it may be an issue with TSW5 trying to fetch online information if the console is connected to an apparent internet source. DTG Chris- in order to reproduce I think you'd need to disconnect your router from internet and leave your console connected to the router.
When my Internet was down, I was able to load TSW5 by turning off the 'connect to Internet' option in settings on the PS5. Go to settings, then network, and there is the 'connect to Internet' option. If you leave this option on when your Internet is down, TSW5 Will freeze while attempting to load.
