Instead presumably relying on people scavenging the internet or relying on the help built into the game. Looking for help with Guard Mode I found the in game help entry which shows "No content yet, check back soon", same for help with Free Roam - pathetic! How do they expect users, particularly new ones, to get the best from the game and its new features? The TSW4 manual is actually quite good so it can be done.
Plus, I'm sure they'll get more support tickets without a manual. If something isn't working as expected, people may assume it's a bug. Without any guidance to help them.
Play the tutorials in training centre. There are far more now and nobody reads the manuals. Also you can find a lot of information in the online gameplay guides
Really, how do you know? I'd read a TSW 5 manual if there were one, I find it far easier to keep a copy open to refer to as I go rather than having to stop my run, try to find a relevant tutorial, and then resume.
Of course I read a manual the first time I play a new route. And yes, I can also play a tutorial. But with so many different trains from different countries it is often necessary to look for a special aspect of a train especially when changing routes during gameplay. With a manual on my tablet I can quickly look e.g. why the train won‘t move. That’s much more convenient than closing the route, opening the tutorial, play the tutorial and then open the route again. Does Dovetail expect us to write our own manuals now??
I always start with a new train by working through the tutorial so that I have all the basics of driving. Then I'll load up the Training Centre, and 'teach' myself about all the stuff the tutorial doesn't show as well as practice driving it.
Why would DTG write manuals? They can just make new buggy DLCs and sell them! P.S. Bugs from Vorarlberg and Dresden-Riesa from TSW4 still not fixed and will not be fixed anymore. P.P.S. Without manuals TSW became more an arcade (with conductor mode, photo mode and so on) rather than a sim.
