hi, I tried to compare playstation 4 and 5 and PC from qa what I noticed on all 3 platforms have a low performance and I wonder if DTG will ever make some repair updates because honestly, trying to do a service 10 times, for example Milton-London Euston, is very frustrating, I understand on PlayStation 4 but on playstation 5 and PC it seems exaggerated that tsw5 does not work properly after spending 75 € even in the deluxe edition version, I hope that DTG solves this problem as soon as possible and that it seriously thinks about making crucial choices to make all future Tsw work because sooner or later people get tired and obviously will no longer pay for a product that only works at 30% even on new generation consoles!
Performance has been a constant issue for a long time, it hasn't, and won't be, fixed, you've got two options, live with it, or play something else.
The fact it runs so poorly on consoles with fixed hardware capabilities is sad testimony to DTG’s inability to optimise the game. The odd stutter here and there could be overlooked but rubber banding along with sound distortion or dropouts is not something we should be enduring 7 years into the franchise.
I feel after getting tsw5 it was no better than tsw4. Noticed some noticeable drops in frames on ecml for example
I got the free starter pack on my Xbox One and the game would barely load in the train models (most would take at least ten seconds to show the high LOD model) and the framerate was hovering between 5 and 15. Truly unplayable. There is no reason a game on an engine as well documented as Unreal should be running so poorly. I'm pretty sure the PS4 and Xbox One versions are running in 720p or 900p, either of which is inexcusable. The PS5 and Series X versions don't run at a consistent 60fps when they really should be. My PC can run pretty much any game at high settings in 1080p at a locked 60fps, but TSW rarely reaches 50. It doesn't help that TSW doesn't look sharp unless your screen percentage is 150% or higher because of a lack of anti-aliasing options. There is no excuse for the game to only have 1x FXAA or TAA.. Train Simulator allows you to combine multiple anti-aliasing methods which makes it look so much cleaner at high settings. And my TS is at the highest possible settings and still runs consistently better than TSW. That said, I do want to upgrade my CPU which will hopefully increase performance for both. And for comparison, SimRail looks better than TSW and runs better as well.
In all honesty, the TSW4 Roll out was dare I stay smooth as butter compared to TSW5, literally one(1) month into the release and three(3) patches, and still so many issues, and this is the latest and greatest baby from DTG, I to got the FREE start pack on my XB1X and it is not looking good, and they are developing to the lowest common denominator and it's still looking like someone that just left design school.
