Yes it is. If you want fixes that have been promised for content you’ve already bought, or wish to buy any content going forward then you will have to pay for it, just like with TSW3, just like TSW4. September is now BOHICA (google it) month for DTG. It’s that simple.
Again. You’re not obligated to buy future content. If you want to you will need to purchase TSW4. If you don’t want to buy it you don’t have to. You’re a customer. That’s your right.
Yes, and that's a problem. This didn't have to be a new game. They could've easily just sold the routes as a special pack for the exact same price, and it would've been fair, considering their current route pricing. And then put the rest of this into a large core update. It's incredibly problematic that if I see any route I now see in the future I have to buy essentially this route pack which I'm barely interested in first to be able to even go get content I'm actually interested in seperately.
…and for the promised patches / fixes / content for the DLC already purchased? They’ve already said support for TSW3 will be dropped almost immediately after TSW4’s release. And for the outright lies they’ve told to people waiting for fixes to TSW2? I said all along they were lying and this excuse about release slots was horse manure. Was I wrong? Next year all the issues with TSW4 will be canned and you will only ever see things bettered if you buy TSW5. And so on into perpetuity. Count me out.
Non-core TSW4 content: Vorarlberg - leaked (Mastery images) Antelope - leaked (Mastery images) ECML - leaked when Flying Scotsman Centenary was leaked (Smithfield ...) Vectron - leaked (Smithfield ...) How many routes / locos will be leaked prior to TSW5's launch?
I assume TSW5 will be released this year's winter, it actually even mentioned on TSW4 roadmap as the 'Winter core improvements' or something like that
And most wanted the ECML South with King's Cross. DTG picked literally the most bland and boring section of the ECML. It's going to be Kassel-Wurzburg 2.0. A couple runs back and forth on the 801 and that's it. Nothing else much to do.
You know, when I saw first threads about TSW4 leaks few weeks ago I also thought it is absurd: another instance of TSW just one year after TSW3?! Not possible!
Why are we speculating about tsw 5, something that is so close to release, when we COULD be speculating about TSW 6!!!!!!!
You beat me by one minute. But yeah they'll probably give us WCML but the most boring bit, i.e. Milton Keynes to Crewe.
Yeah, maybe we should consider keeping watch. I'm a little afraid that when I'll go sleep in an hour today and wake up tomorrow in the morning, TSW6 will already be released!
Or maybe the marketing team will find something new, like TSW2025 ! Or TSWXP (for experiance) Or TSW Infinity (for customer payments) Or TSW Universe edition (because world is not enough)
New TSW versions will bring of course new editions and countries : - Luxembourg ed. (with all railway from Luxemburg) - Monaco ed. (because less is more ! ) - White horizons (with 200 km of hypothetic Antarctic rails : no scenery, no stutters, a win win solution for PS4 and potato computers owners)
I won't dispute that. If they were gonna do the WCML I'd be fine with anything North of Preston, provided it's a decent length. Preston to Carlisle would be fantastic, I'd also be very excited to see Carlisle to Glasgow. London Euston to Milton Keynes would also be welcome, but it would have a much different feel.
I agree fully, preston and carlisle would be beautiful ending points in a very nice part of the route to drive on
Ray Tracing! 8K 120HZ! Customisable Drivers and Crew! Sixteen times the detail! A fully licensed soundtrack! Celebrity Voice Overs for the Training Missions! Pre order now to get the Dovetail Games Staff DLC Pack, where you can play as famous DTG staff such as Matt and JD! Oh and er, yeah, probably some new routes or trains or something innit
all new content and fixes for old content is now behind a 50 dollars pay wall. what happened to all those promised TSW2 fixes. You can get them fixed for money.
I'm very sure from now on, the life expectancy of TSW is only one year. See ya next year for TSW5 guys!
TSW5 - free roam now includes functionality to place your own passengers - improved elevator sound effects (sourced from real elevator at dtg office) - Passenger & Umbrella Livery Designer 1.0 - Doom-mode to remove unwanted passengers from stock move scenarios
With Tsw4 there is a real progress about features to justify this step. Im still surprised by yesterdays stream. I was expecting the usual loco and route announcement with a few extra gimmicks, but i havent see this coming with scenario planner 2.0, the free roam etc. You could already do hell of alot with current ultra basic "advance quick drive scp". But now the community has defenitly got a tool to boost this franchais to a level which makes tsw a true sucessor. How mony hours i had to spend (waste) at wsr washford to create train formations, since this is the only section a player could mix consists. The free roam will save me a lot of time to try the things on my usual sandbox spirit. With the pc editor, technically somebody could make a better timetable for peak forest. Alltrough happy with the future content, still thinking the latest releases needs to get the update players asking for. We know what happend to the "promised" tsw2 updates. Now that i know that as a pc player my 1TB ssd isnt gonna be enough, my question would be: can tsw4 handle if somebody ownes all dlcs on pc?
What single valid reason is there, that anything announced yesterday should be for free? Cant believe these are real expectations. If devs start to release tsw4 as freeware, there wont be any new tsw, thats for sure. Even for a company with a lot of expensive infrastructure, the biggest cake of expanses are the salaries of employee. I guess scenario planner 2.0 etc. was developed by a ghost?
Look for the charity tax write-off TSW4 sale next summer, announce a whole lot of nothing a month later, rinse, repeat. Voila TSW5 (if Focus wishes to keep propping up this farce).
How many times does this have to be said before people get this into their heads? A lot of the community ARE NOT wanting everything for free, all we want is the stuff that was promised and stated to be done by DTG over the years only for them to lie and put it behind paywalls or don't bother. What about the TSW2 preserved route updates they promised to release shortly after the release of TSW3? Where are they? Everytime people asked they was given excuse after excuse and now all of a sudden less than a year later TSW4 is coming out. Everything that was shown off in the stream could easily have been made and added to TSW3, but no the greed of the company and blind stupidity of most of the community who are blatantly and constantly turning a blind eye to what is going on is causing this. It's funny how you say that there won't be new TSW releases if it's a core update when TSC does exactly that which means everyone new & old get the core update and DTG releases a route/loco bundle every year and that game is still going strong and making more than enough money off the DLC. What DTG is doing is basically slapping the community in the face while a lot of people hand over their money for TSW3.5.
I am not asking for free content i am asking for the Stuff i already bought to be fixed and for me not to have to spend another 50 dollars to get to get the dlc i already bought fixed or not to have future content that i may want locked behind a 50 dollar paywall of content i don't want. I bought spirt of steam for TSW2 expecting them to update it over time fleshing out the half assed steam loco implementation . 1 year later and 2 pay walls later they still have not fixed steam simulation in SoS. The TSW2 version of SoS got like 1 update after release. Thats it, if i knew the stuff i just bought would be abandon ware in less then 2 months i wouldn't have bought it. I am fine with paying for DLC, that will further develop the base game over time. I don't want to have to buy the base game over and over and over again. I am suggesting the same model that Train sim classic uses. Or the same model lots of other games I am happy to spend my money on. Cites skylines I only had to buy once I got free updates then lots of great paid dlc for it for close to ten years. I will buy cites skylines 2 on day one. Because it is a actual sequel taking all that was good about the first in improving upon it. Not to mention the other paradox games. DCS world is free, it comes with the original map and several aircraft. Then one can buy the modules you want. A example The A10C warthog which is one of the oldest paid modules they have, was supported for like close to 10 years. Then they did a massive redo of the model and textures in 2019, It was a mix of free and a paid update. For free you got the new model with pristine fresh from the factory textures. The paid update added some modern capabilities to the aircraft you could chose the more weathered worn looking textures instead. They did not make you buy DCS world again first, they give the base game away for free because they know people will try it and spend money on their really well done modules. The funny thing about DCS world is the game engine is as old as train sim classic is but after years of updates DCS world now looks like a modern game. Up there with Microsoft flight sim 2020. mean while DTG just shovel's LOVE out the door. There is a reason why DTG failed in the flight sim world. I just bought all the dlc for American truck simulator because they don't make you buy the base game over and over again. They update the base game for free. You pay for them to expend the map and for more content Each new dlc is a new state. But the engine gets updated an bugged fixed all the time. DX12 is coming soon, along improved weather lots of stuff and I wont have to buys the based game again but i will buy future dlc. Those are the companies i will spend my money on.
perhaps TSW 7 we will get direct input support. I like how i can use my hotas with some no name fishing game no one has heard of. But DTG cant seem to implement proper controller support into their supposed sim games.
After so many years people should realise that DTG does not have a grasp of the English language and do not know the definition of the word promise. Lies... Now there's a word that they embrace with both arms.
