There should not be a reason why TSW6 shouldn’t be multiplayer this is the sixth game. I’ve played other train simulator games they all have multiplayer for instance RSU, which is a game on Roblox yes, Roblox does their simulator way better than DOVETAIL which shouldn’t be the case WHY IS A GAME THAT RUNS ON ROBLOX DOING BETTER THAN A COMPANY WHO SOUL PURPOSE IS TO MAKE A RAIL SIMULATION GAMES!!!

not only that they got sound that actually sounds realistic, and they also have horns which you can control Foley not just a push it. A button and a sound turns on an actual horn that functions like an actual horn dovetail should be pass this level of realism, but we’re now on the six game and it’s basically the same game over and over again with some minor tweaks. Dovetail needs to do better for the sake of the company and as much as it pains me to say this shame on dovetail for allowing a Roblox game to put them all the shame,
Keep in mind they’re able to have multiple servers up and running with 30 people in each servers just think about that thank you.

Honestly I still don't get why so many people are crazy for multiplayer in a sim like TSW.
What does it add to the experience? The knowledge, that the train you just passed is being driven by another human being? Is that it?

The only thing that comes to my mind to justify multiplayer would be creating small co-op teams to tend to one specific train (i.e. one is the driver, another one the conductor, the third one is dispatch). But even that's a lot of work for arguably small benefit... TSW is just not built to accomodate such things at this point.

I stick to my opinion: Let's fix some bugs of the existing game first, before adding big new features...

    *Sighs*

by any chance are you lucky or are just ignoring 100s of problems in this game?

like how many times do you people have to suggest this to realise it’s not going to happen and it shouldn’t happen until every thing else

Louie - Can I ask a few questions regarding Multiplayer?

What do you feel the advantages of Multiplayer would be? How would you use it, assuming it would have to be in the Timetables?
Are you thinking that you and a mate would want to be driver and guard or driver and "secondman" (on older routes)?

As I and many have mentioned before, multiplayer in a game like Flight Simulator can be fun. You and a few mates go off for a fly somewhere and you can have some banter about each players' flying/landing skills. But Flight Simulator is very much a global blank canvas where there's endless possibilities for activities. In TSW there's free roam but unlike FS there would be far less interaction with others. You'd essentially get the "thrill" of passing a mate going in the opposite direction which in real life might be nice, driving a real train all day can get lonely but in a sim, is that still exciting?

Maybe I'm missing a core element of the experience as you see it, hence my questions but what enjoyment are you looking for if Multiplayer comes to TSW?

How about you give us some numbers here? You are saying it does better than TSW while you have not given any proof that your statement is true. I dont know if we are talking about the same game here, but a quick look at some reviews of RSU only shows how unrealistic, bland and unfinished this game looks. Not to mention your argument with them being able to run multiple servers while all servers are run by the roblox team and not the devs of RSU.

Now that the only other thing you name to put RSU above TSW are the sounds, especially for the horns (which are horns but not horns, as you say?)
Here is a list of all downsides RSU has.
    1. Looks like plastic
    2. Poorly made maps
    3. Poorly modelled train
    4. Close to no shadow rendering
    5. No passengers at stations
    6. Render distance of like 20 meters
    7. Still a very laggy and bad performance besides it having no details at all
    8. limited route choices while being named as Rail Sim "Universe".
    9. Close track scenery only, close to no distant scenery
    10. Anything but realistic physics or simulation
    And much more...

All that just from watchin a 2 minute video uploaded 5 days ago.

Funnily enough, I was showing a friend an Ethanol loading service on Oakville last night, and one of the things we remarked on was how this really felt like it was designed to be a two person job, one driving the locomotive while the other correctly aligns the switches and loads the tankers.

    *Sighing several times*
I ride with you in the cabin and start pressing all the buttons in a row. Or I pull the emergency brake. Or I move the switch so that you go somewhere else. I uncouple the carriages and you leave on a locomotive without carriages. Do we need such a multiplayer? I don't.

This says more about the kind of arseholes you have as friends than about the game.

Or I guess, maybe that you need to pick different, more suitable kinds of games to play with your toddler?

I don't have any friends playing TSW at all. So I need to find some open lobby where idiots might come in. Or make a multiplayer only for friends? Then very few people will be able to play it.

It's very much a case of "if you build it", if the game had multiplayer, you can guarantee that this very forum would have people offering to play with each other, and I guarantee that with a pre-established community like this one, finding people to add to your friends list to play with, who are equally serious about having fun properly completing services together as best we can would not be hard.

Most games I play with private community servers have pretty solid vetting processes to keep trolls out.

I only play in train control mode. I'm not interested in conductor mode at all. And anyway, I don't care who opens the doors, I just need to press one button on the gamepad to do it. Plus I like driving freight trains. Let's not add a multiplayer for freight trains? It turns out to be some kind of suitcase without a handle, and not a multiplayer. And I absolutely don’t understand why DTG would waste resources on such an incomprehensible multiplayer when there are a bunch of much more important problems with the game?

I don't like football, we should probably do away with football while we're at it. Every stadium is taking up good space that a solid train station could be built on.

Someone really needs to start a jar of money and add a tenner for each time a thread is created about multiplayer. Multiplayer is not going to be coming to TSW anytime as the core game isn't built with it in mind

If I don't like football, I don't buy tickets to it. And I ignore it altogether. But if a developer builds a football stadium instead of building stations, I don't need that.

It's time to make the creation of multiplayer themes paid. 10 pounds per theme. Maybe someday those who want to will collect enough money for DTG to implement it)
