Just a list of things I'd like to see in TSW6, mostly QoL changes. • Being able to see the stops you call at before selecting a service. • Being able to adjust gamma to your liking. • More save slots. • Being able to adjust your render/draw distance. • Being able to use Depth of Field effects outside of Photo Mode. • Fine tune of Scenario Mode services instead of 5 minute increments. • Making the Main Menu easier to navigate on console. Ex: (when going through your photo gallery not having to sit and scroll for 3 minutes to reach your most recent pictures) • Motion blur issue with wheels sorted. • Better method of carrying over DLC to the new game. • Being able to select Menu Music from old TSW titles. (I really wanna use TSW3's music) • Optimization, optimization, optimization. There's definitely more to add but that's all I can think of on the top of my head at the current moment. Feel free to drop your own wishlist below if you have something I haven't stated.
Great wishlist, here are some things on my own wishlist: Better livery designer (like Forza horizon) Improved Creator club UI (Easier to navigate, easier to search things up) Slightly relaxed Creator's club moderation (moderation not letting you type the word class because of the last three letters) Creator's club feature that lets you share particular shapes, logos etc made on livery designer (like Forza horison) Improved conductor/train guard system for Loco hauled trains.(more stuff to do and available on more services). Being able to select Spotify music to replace Menu Music. Ability to make your own custom loading screens. Forum integration on console and pc (eg being able to submit images for the screenshot week on TSW rather than having to transfer the image then doing to long process to submit it on the forums especially for console players like myself). Custom journal/diary/log note book to include customs not like tips on driving a particular train, services that will be coming at a particular station (including head codes), mini objectives to complete as your driving like horn twice at a certain signal etc. Way to allow PC mods to be used on console. Better NPCs (both looks and path finding) Mail trains being added to loco hauled passenger trains (eg as a conductor you might need to load parcels and other goods at a certain station great for WCMLOS). Stopping the sit here as well it's getting too long.
My whilst: Less stuttering, better graphic card performance use from the game. Would be a good start to improve the user experience...
i'd love to see random events but that will never happen, but you could kinda create one by making AI trains less punctual, i.e. just leave a station 5 mins late ahead causing issues behind it...they don't need to explain why. it would just add that extra layer of realism. obviously this should be a feature that the player can disable should they wish
My hot take remains sorting out the save game. More slots and the issues which get in the way of service chaining, both of which DTG have put their heads in the sand about.
Loaded freight wagon Better passenger behavior Communicate with the dispatcher and other train by inbuilt text/voice Station announcements in the service
I would quite like it if, as you passed a station, depot or junction, a small text field appeared somewhere in the HUD (optional selection) informing you what station, depot, junction it was. Get rid of the medal/scoring system. Get the sound balance right.
Some HUD/UX wishes: Distance marker on the HUD should show track mileage, not crow-flies distance. (This one drives me particularly crazy) On German routes and others with kilometer boards, the HUD should show the km marker corresponding to the destination station. Option for a superminimalist HUD showing just the incline. Timetable menu should show the length and weight of the train, and any intermediate stops.
Wishes: - a more realistic lighting - content and routes from Southeast Asia eg. Malaysia - A real German Avmz207 Intercity coach, Silberling driver cab car and m-Wagen - a route in the Nuremberg area eg. Wurzburg to Nuremberg. Kind regards.
The ability to rate your favourite services from 1 to 5 stars. Good for those who like to go back and play them again. Bring back the clock-style passenger loading timer! It's more accurate and intuitive.
Picking up on Jon from Rhode Island comments above and something I've mentioned before. The running timetable should be much more detailed and include passing times at timing points and key locations such as junctions. In UK terms, the Working Timetable not the Public. An extreme example of this is on the WCML where you depart Preston and the next location shown is Carlisle. No use at all to a driver needing to know if they are on time or where there might be pathing or recovery time in the schedule. L
Completely agree with you on that. The current distance readout is next to useless, especially on routes like the Fife circle.
100% agree with stops you call at and random events - I made a thread on this a while ago. Another thing I'd like to see is conductor mode improvements - such as showing the booked calling time at stations along the route, and then the actual time once you've arrived (same as with driver mode)
I'd also like passengers to be going to off the map locations. It's a little wierd guarding a 390 out of Euston and the entire train is only going to Watford or Milton Keynes. They could easily add a line on the ui that lists the stops when checking a ticket that says "further off the map stops" or something to that effect.
From a console player, (i) please bring back bell functionality to the PS/XBOX controller like it used to be back in 2020 (if you need ideas for keys binding, simultaneously pressing square and X on PS controller, or use the same as PZB release/override as these functionalities would be mutually exclusive) and (ii) bring back fast external flyover camera to the controller (use operations shift and left stick for instance). These are small changes that would make a big impact.
TOD4 London Commuter with 700/1 (FLU) timetable. Fix the 377 and 387 pickup shoes for DC power because the power cuts out so damn much and sounds awful. The shoes on the second-to-front and second-to-back bogies don't count towards power even when they're touching the rail. It's been an issue for years.
- random events at timetable - station announcement - better weather system - better lighting at nights
Better trophies/achievements instead of ones that can be completed in 3/4hours. Re-add the 10,000 miles one from tsw 2 for re-playability
For Conductor Mode, allow accepting tickets for off-map destinations. Seems kinda wrong to tell someone their ticket from Cardiff Central to Doncaster (as an example) is invalid when such a journey could be made in reality.
For this I once had the Idea for Achievements "Drive ... km in a certain country". That way you would also have Achievements that you can hunt for on older routes.
I too have thought that, but can see DTG reluctance as it will inevitably bring calls they are possibly forcing people to buy content they don’t own in order to complete the “general” mastery. Though I highly doubt many players don’t own at least one German or North American route and if you are into the game sufficiently to worry about achievements and/or the monthly Mastery then you’re more than likely to have an extensive collection of content.
I don't want to be the party pooper here (but already being ). It's just that I think it's a little late for a TSW6 wish list. Coming from software dev ops myself, it seems more realistic if you open a wish list for TSW7. On the other hand: I'm absolutely sure and convinced that, over the year, DTG read the forum very carefully, listed all the bugs, complaints and suggestions and they'll be squashed, fixed and introduced in the upcoming iteration. (Yes, if you find sarcasm in the last sentence, you can keep it.)
I was asking this on the FB groups before I joined here and I'll keep asking, even though it feels a waste of time... I would like a better scenario editor. As it stands every route has too few paths so your scenarios are often empty. Only PC modders can get around it. In MSTS, I could not only create my own paths, but I could also place static versions of a train into a siding or platform to make a route look busier. I don't get how something that was brought in for a sim 25 years ago, isn't possible today. Step backwards. At the very least give us more AI paths for the existing routes. Platforms to portals and sidings to platform for an ECS run.
