Give us the option to turn on or off the bell while on external camera like you said when the update came out please.
I brought this subject up again a few days ago but very few seem to care unfortunately. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/core-update-for-immersion-bell-button-when.49265/ When I asked Matt in a stream if DTG were going to make any more changes to the controller buttons he said it was unlikely.
I also made this suggestion a short while ago, and others have made it before me. The general response I got was, "Just use the classic controls." This was from other people on the forum, not DTG. It's especially annoying, for instance, when driving the ACS-64, where the bell comes on automatically with the horn, necessitating going into cab view to turn it off, every time. I think this is the case with some other US locos as well. However, as nice as it would be, I do agree that there doesn't seem to be any particular interest on the part of DTG or the community to get this done.
The simple solution to this is to use a keyboard then you have the B key to use to turn the bell on/off whilst in external view. You'll also be able to change the external view without having to faff about in the settings
