So based on a small discussion in a thread earlier about putting the pacer on the TVL, I thought I'd make a thread to pool info. Would be good for anyone that wanted to take a stab at it in the editor.

I've been wanting to learn the editor, and messing around with timetables seems like a good way to start, that mostly just requires persistence, and free time.

So with that said, what trains would be present on the Tees Valley Line during 1989?
    Class 08, Class 37, Class 101, Class 142, Class 20, Class 31 I know about.

What else that we have in TSW would be present in the area?
    The 150? The 40/45/47?

Anyone got any timetable/service info, or know where you could find it?

The class 47 would have been, especially non class 47/4 variants. They were regularly used on freight, I am sure Thornaby had an allocation of them but I need to look in my platform 5 books. Many would have been in one of the railfreight liveries although plain blue ones were still fairly plentiful.

The class 40's were withdrawn by 1985 except four for the Crewe remodelling scheme which were in department use, they had gone by 1989. The green celebrity class 40 entered preservation in 1988 I believe.

The class 45's were withdrawn by 1988, one survived to replace the celebrity green class 40 D200. Number 45106, was repainted in green but suffered a fire resulting in its withdrawal in around 1989/1990.

Heaton depot has never had class 150's (or if they have they were few and short lived as I can't recall any) so they would have been an unusual sight in that part of the north east, probably some would have worked in from West Yorkshire but not onto the Saltburn line.

DMU wise, 2 car class 101's and class 142 and 143 Pacers would have been the main DMU's. Heaton had some class 108's for the Cumbrian coast line so they might have been seen occassionally but we don't have one so that is a moot point. Heaton had the compete class 143 fleet in 1989 so they were far more likely to be seen. They had a few class 142's, mostly (or maybe solely) ex Plymouth Laira chocolate and cream Skippers.

Class 56's would likely to have been seen in 1989, class 58's unlikely I imagine.

Anyway I will get my anorak!

Thank you very much, I've actually just started learning timetabling today, and started working on a TVL Timetable.
    More info the better!
