Suddenly TSW looks less impresive https://80.lv/articles/a-ue5-powere...1wbiMpq0j4ZluOC5SgYr_NkFcgGvV3EAmJ57c7G9uN6iM
I am following the developer on Facebook, and their work just seems to promising. I really hope they get to release the full version at some point. And I do wonder what the system requirements of such graphics will be?
Probably not. From what I see in other games, switching to UE5 is a LOT of work and many things need to be remade. And since DTG model is focused on releasing new DLCs rather than repairing old ones, it would most likely mean starting from scratch and losing every addon released prior to TSW UE5. Then getting them back at the speed of 2 add-ons per year (look at TSW3 lighting upgrades for older routes)
Find it very helpful then so looks like there will be stuck for UE4. Maybe down the road when epic game stop supporting Unreal Engine 4 that's when they might move
If UE5 requires all existing TSW content to be re-made, only one of three things can happen: TSW is never upgraded to UE5 and whatever limitations exist remain forever; or TSW is upgraded to UE5 and all existing content is rebuilt from scratch; or TSW is upgraded to UE5 and all existing content is abandoned. Given DTG’s track record, I know which direction I think they’ll take.
If the content never came along then at best it’s a different game to me, whether I would consider purchasing is another question.
I'll be honest, it looks great! It looks awesome, very impressive and I'd be interested in trying it. However... Some things i'm gonna consider is already the issues DTG have with UE4, at times it really becomes a performance void. I'm not sure the exact performance of UE5 but I'm gonna presume it might just get a bit worse because they'll have to learn a brand new engine. I'm also going to consider how many DLCs I'll be able to keep, because likely next to nothing will get ported over. That to me pretty much kills the deal if they're going with the 3 route a game model... At that point to me it's not a TSWX and instead it's own thing entirely. Then again, seeing how things have gone, I'd have to switch over regardless because they'd likely ditch the previous game. As far as where I'm standing, I'm not too thrilled about a UE5 TSW... :/
