I have tried this 'tutorial' 5 or 6 times and I keep getting to step 14 and then I get in a mess!! I at at the point where the task is to "Couple to formation 4". I make it there and couple with no issues except the destination is still 130 yards ahead. So I coupe and push forward. Wheel spin!! Then I start uncoupling so see if I can get going. Some times I can pull on car from away but there are 8 or so!! Then I always get to where the engine will go in one direction and not the other. When I apply power in the 'bad' direction the amps never even move up. In theother direction I get the usual 900+ amps. I don't get it!! How is the engine running in one direction and not the other?? I looked for anything blocking the track, etc and found nothing. The real problem is it takes 30-40 minutes to get to where the failure occurs :-( I did things like check breaks on all cars, check breaks on engine, and so on. If the engine didn't work at all, I'd feel like I could solve it but only one direction generates amps (power) and I am stumped!! Again this is the Y104 tutorial and 14 steps go great UNTIL!! Thanks for any help and to those who replied tomy first post. My father/grean-father/great uncle/worked for C&O for 145 years total, so I want to get the C&O engines and the Cumberland Yard working!!
