Add to the routes around Stockton and Thornaby (Tees Valley), the route through Middlesbrough to Whitby along the Esk Valley line.
In addition the, now, preserved railway between Grosmont (on the Esk Valley route) and Pickering.
This preserved rail has a station at Gothland, which was the station used for Hogwarts in the Harry Potter films and TV series Heartbeat.
Surely that gives scope for lots of ideas :)

The Pickering - Grosmont preserved railway (aka NYMR) can be obtained through UKTS or Steam Sounds Supreme. It does go to Whitby but there's no scenery past Grosmont.
There's also DPS North East England V3 which goes as far as Nunthorpe on the Esk Valley line
