Both the US and Ger have a variety of cab cars for the in game passenger trains but as far as i can tell there are currently none for any UK routes. So does UK have no cab car trains or has dtg siimply not got around to making any yet?But there might be at least one option and with the UK routes being the only ones to currently to have steam trains might i suggest a auto coach which would definitely be new and unique for a add on route or loco add on.It could be paired up with a 060 take engine perhaps. And a few extra passenger cars as well. Note:The arosa/chur route should also have a cab car(And yes they do exsist even thou a few here want to deny it) but this topic for later.
The UK does have control cars but they are not as commonly seen as they are in the US, mainly because so many of their trains are MU's or trainsets with locomotives on both ends. The most common control cars are the Mark 4 DVTs (Driving Van Trailer) and are primarily used on the East Coast Mainline in conjunction with Class 91 locomotives and Mark 4 coaches. There were Mark 3 DVTs but to my knowledge are a rarity. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Driving_Van_Trailer Mostly retired now, they also used DBSOs (Driving Brake Second Open), which were Mark 2 coaches converted into control cars. These would be most recognizable to North Americans as a cab car. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Driving_Brake_Standard_Open In preservation, you have Class 438 4-TC units that are unpowered Mark 1 EMUs originally built to run Weymouth push-pull trains. They were towed by an EMU in third rail territory, then by a Class 33 or 73 outside of it. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/British_Rail_Class_438
These all sound like good options and might make great UK cab car possibility but i'm still hoping for a auto coach. But thank for the info.
They are called Driving Van Trailers and are used on the ECML with mk4s, chiltern mainline with modified mk3s and the toe services with mk5 s. I think these are the most regular services they are used on nowadays.
