I just completed the current player survey and liked the idea of a subscription service for TSW content, but I missed something with that idea. I'd rather have not a limited subscription with only a rotating hand full of DLC, but an ultimate subscription which includes everything (the most current version of the game and all DLC). Trainz offers this, too. There you pay around 10 Euros per month or 110 Euros per year and you get access to the latest version of the game and the complete library of DLC including early access to new DLC two weeks before release. I'd happily pay up to 20 Euros per month for a TSW version of that and be definetely one of the first subscribers. In my opinion it would open up completely new possibilities of enjoying the game if players had such an easy and affordable option of accessing everything at once. What do you think? By the way: Something like this for Train Simulator Classic would be great as well in my opinion.
Each to their own, but for me it’s ownership all the way, no subscription, no compromise, negotiations closed as they were never open . Could be any guess on what the details and value would be of one, I’ve always seen subscriptions as a money eater anyways so value has long jumped out the window for me from the start, as with any subscription you will soon have reached the price tag of what the dlc would have cost, and as it’s a subscription it’s keep paying over & over or lose it all.
I think this'd be pretty subjective to the person and how they'd implement it. In the case of receiving DLCs every month or so...or having access to a certain amount, well that wouldn't be such a bad idea actually. However, there isn't actually that many routes to go around so I don't think it'd be THAT appealing. Price is important aswell, especially on Console where you're already paying for gamepass or whatever playstation has. Shelling out another 20 is just a no-go for me. Maybe 10 or 15. Personally, I'd say what we have as of right now works. I don't want for DTG to implement a subscription now and slowly move more and more features behind a subscription.
I wouldn't like a subscription with exclusive features as well, just only a completey optional subscription with the game and all DLC as an alternative to speding even more money when buying lots of content every year. Of course, 10-15 Euros per month for that would be better. I completely agree with that. But if an ultimate subscription isn't possible at that price point, 20 Euros per month would still be okay for me.
Subscription would be uninstall, delete and use the HD space for something that doesn't follow that business model.
