Just a small idea I had last night but I think it would be cool if layers that aren't activated cause the respective services to show on information screens and announced as being cancelled. This would provide a sort of in world explanation as to services being missing. If operators don't like their name being displayed next to a cancelled service then services could be listed without an operator attached. Heck, services could even be displayed as having been changed to a rail replacement bus.
