I very strongly suspect this is a clue as to what the next UK route will be - unbranded 387s were used on Thameslink and Great Northern services...
Wouldn't make any sense though. Why not just release it with the new route as a "if you have BML, you get an unbranded GX 387" Unless they're simply doing it for layers and ai in routes like Suffragette e.t.c.
I suspect this change is actually to help with the livery designer. Because the G in the big 'GX' on the side of the train covers the window slightly, that tiny bit of G was still there in the window when making a new livery. Was a bit annoying. I would like a new UK route, but I suspect it is to help with livery designer instead.
Would love to hear a dev comment on this! In the past, when seemingly random but official liveries were added, it often turned out to be for layers in new routes (e.g. the red DB BR 628, which had some AI appearances in Lindau but actually turned out to be a big layer on Maintalbahn and Rosenheim-Salzburg).
Because DTG have never done anything like that (liveries included in a DLC that are only accessible if you own another DLC) before.
Well, we have the Azuma, the 700 (albeit the /0 class), and part of the ECML on both Suffragette and SEHS routes (as AI only). For a ECML South, all we need is a 717 and we have a full timetable plus AI (unless there's something I've forgotten or missed, apart from the non existent IC225).
They sort of did with the Red BR 628 for Voralberg, Salzburg and Maintalbahn if you owned Niddertalbahn.
But you get that if you own Niddertalbahn - whether you own the routes that it's actually used on is irrelevant.
I'm going to go for a long shot here and say ATS will be doing Cambridge to Peterborough then, theyve got the 755 and the same route on TSC so im sure they will want to be copying as much as they can from what they did before as to reduce the risk of underwhelming themselves in their first TSW breakthrough. That would leave the 387s to be AI at CBG with the 700, and then CBG - ELY and Kings Lynn services to layer in or be a base part of the route? The way i see it its perfect as both large station ends of the route will be AI stacked and we wont get another Glasgow Queen Street issue like Cathcart Circle
I mean, still, I suspect they aren;t doing it as a teaser, and merely just for livery designer or AI/ layer reasons
The livery was something I added for use on GOBLIN, where unbranded GX 387's run on the ECML as AI services. It's not a new livery but just an AI setting which hides the GX decals.
