Intro: The UP Big Boy is the largest locomotive in the world. It used to provide freight routes across the west and centre of the USA. The only one left is 4014, the rest were scrapped. It has a top speed of 60mph (97 km/h). Routes: The Big Boy will run on the following routes: Cane Creek Subdivision Sherman Hill Cajon Pass Here's a photo of the train:
These union steam trains are pretty popular, there could be a good chance these could get done by another developer for TSW
We also need FEFs (including #844) and Challengers (including #3985), in addition to Big Boy #4014. The Big Boy could also see service on Cajon Pass or other US routes in excursion service. A UP Excursion Train Pack should include the following: -#4014 -#844 -#3985 -A full consist of UP Excursion Passenger Cars with interiors -UP SD70M #4015 (and other units, too; should be playable by itself) -Some more UP freight equipment for the SD70M (steel coil cars, new autoracks, new intermodal well cars, cement hoppers, coal hoppers, etc.) -Other UP excursion items: -UP DDA40X #6936 -UP E9m A-B-A Set
Well never say never, obviously, and lord knows if done decently would sell like hot cakes. Just don't think people should get their expectations too high that a load of third parties are stepping in where DTG failed and can overcome the fundamental issues with steam traction in the core - particularly with such a complex brute as the Big Boy.
LMAO, No It wouldn't run on the branch line. Unless you want to run it for like a few minutes on the main.... Also, no mention of Cajon Pass?
I admire the optimism regarding DTG and steam traction but I sense a prolonged break from doing anything with it. However it definitely is worth keeping interest alive and the pressure on!
