UP's Overland Route (the original Transcontinental Railroad) traverses some of the most impressive scenery in the western US. We already have the section of the route from Cheyenne west to Laramie, WY (Sherman Hill). I'd like to suggest another famous section of the route: UP's Evanston Sub from Green River, WY, to Ogden, UT (also called the Wasatch Grade). Of course, this route is 175 miles long (way too long for TSW4 at this time), which means that we would probably only get about half of the route from Ogden to Evanston, WY (about 80 miles), and the remaining 95 miles to Green River in a future extension. This version of the route would be set in the modern day. -Interesting route features: -Yard/crew change in Ogden, Utah -Smaller yard in Evanston, Wyoming -Echo Canyon -Castle Rock formation -Devil's Slide formation/Taggart Tunnels/Mountain -Cement Plant near Devil's Slide -Junction to Pocatello Sub in Granger (part of this could be included in game for interchange work) -Curvo: one track crosses over the other -Aspen Tunnels -Larger yard/crew change in Green River -Possible locos to include: -SD70M: New loco for TSW4: UP rosters over 1300 of these older EMDs, with 25 coming from SP; perfect for local/manifest freights, plus mainline operations -C45AH: UP designation for their ET44ACs; UP rosters 200 of these; new loco -C45ACCTE: UP ES44ACs; The RR rosters over 1200 of these engines; repaint of NS ES44AC -SD70AH-T4: UP rosters 100 of these new EMD Tier 4-Compliant locos; new loco -GP60: UP rosters 198 GP60s; all former SP/SSW and D&RGW; these would handle local/switching services on the Evanston Sub; new loco -SD40N: UP rebuilt SD40-2s; used in local and switching services -UP Big Boy #4014 and FEF3 #844: DLCs; for excursion passenger trains on this route; passenger cars included in pack, along with water tenders and SD70M -UP E9 A-B-A: DLC; also for excursion trains -Rolling Stock to include: -Coal hoppers/gondolas -Intermodal Cars (both TOFCs and Well Cars) -Cement Hoppers -Grain Hoppers -30,000 Gallon Tank Cars -Box Cars -Steel Coil Cars -Reefers -Different types of Flat Cars with and without loads (centerbeam, bulkhead, etc.) -Maintenance of Way cars -Other Gondolas -Autoracks (including new models for game) -Possible loco DLCs: -More Big Boys -Challengers (especially #3985); also early versions -More FEFs -UP 4-12-2s -UP Gas Turbines -UP GP20s -UP GP7s/GP9s -UP SD24s -UP FM Erie-Built A-B-A Set -UP DDA40X (including #6936) -UP DD35/DD35A -UP GP30 -UP GP40-2/N -UP GP50 -UP GP40X
Maybe you could add pictures on the yard, topography, and engines on this suggestion. I've been watching Railfanning Video covering this subdivision and it has great view!
