EMD's big 4000HP SD70M locomotives were built starting in the early 1990s. The SD70Ms were powered by 16-cylinder EMD 710G prime movers. The Union Pacific Railroad rosters the largest number of SD70Ms, with over 1000 units (minus units sold or scrapped). The SD70M would be a great addition to the Sherman Hill Route, especially if we could get an updated version of the route in the near future. UP has three different variations of the SD70M. The first units have flat radiators and standard noses. The second variation features flared radiators and is a bit more eco-friendly. The third variation features flared radiators and a new nose design that resembles EMD's later SD70ACes. They also have updated controls and computer systems in the cab. If we get UP EMD SD70Ms, we need all 3 variations. Also, we should get the following liveries for the UP SD70M: -SP Speed Lettering maybe -Ex-SP patched -UP no flag -UP large flag -UP new corporate livery w/ small flag on cab We need the UP special-liveried units too: -UP Salt Lake Olympics units (#2001 and #2002) maybe -UP #1616 "Abraham Lincoln" SD70M-this one is a must for modern UP
