Welcome to the TSW4 edition of unnamed steamdb, where I highlight some of the upcoming DLC's in the steamdb that are unnamed, but have a download size next to them, which can give clues as to what these add-ons are going to be like and in some cases (if it's unannounced) that that add-on might be.

Since we are in a new game (technically), I thought it would be best to do a new thread for the TSW4 stuff separate from the one I did for TSW3. Just so everything is easier to track.

As this game is in it's early day's, if you went and look at the list of depots on TSW4's steamdb page right now, you will find that they don't appear to have title's, it's only when you click on an add-on when you find what that depot is for. However, because of today's update, we now have 3 new depots that are definitely for an upcoming add-on, and these are:

Unnamed Depots that have since been revealed
    • First is 2386172 which has a very large download size of... wait for it... 8.69 GiB. Making this the new second largest download size only behind Kassel-Würzburg at 10.51 GiB (Which that ones new steamdb depot is 2386127). This ended up being the depot for Just Trains' first route, Blackpool Branches: Preston - Blackpool & Ormskirk.
    • The other at this time is depot 2566220, which has a more manageable download size of 4.36 GiB, which is now been confirmed to be the depot for DTG's upcoming German diesel route, Maintalbahn.
    • Depot 2584070 turned out to be for the Arosa Aggregate's Pack, the second expansion pack to come to Arosalinie. Final download size is 111.59 MiB.
    • Depot 2584080, ended up being for the Cargo Line Petroleum pack from Skyhook, sized at 327.80 MiB.
    • Depot 2584090 was for SimTrack Studios first TSW add-on, the Centro Regional Railways 323, sized 187.16 MiB,
    • 2584100 became the depot for Rivet's Engineering Express pack for Edinburgh - Glasgow, with a size of 327.07 MiB.
    • Depot 2584110 ended up being for TSW's 3rd Swiss route (and second metre gauge route), Berninalinie, sized at 4.69 GiB.
    • Next is depot 2584130 which has a download size of 6.34 GiB, which ended up being for Bahnstrecke Salzburg - Rosenheim
    • Finally, we have 2662100, which also has a large size of 6.55 GiB, which surprisingly turned out to be for Rivet's Fife Circle Line.
    Current Unnamed Depots
    • The first depot, 2584120 is quite large at 7.93 GiB, in-between Cajon Pass & East Coast Main Line's download sizes.
    • The smallest depot is 2584140 which is sized 5.17 GiB, in-between Maintalbahn & the Bakerloo Line.
    • The final one for now is 2662130 and is sized at 6.18 GiB, in-between the sizes for Linke Rheinstrecke & NEC: New York - Trenton.
The first depot is probably for the delayed LIRR 2.0 route, the second is definitely for the upcoming GOBLIN/Suffragette Line route (Gospel Oak to Barking) considering that it's quite a small route, and the last one is probably for Semmeringbahn.

That's all for now, but this is only the beginning. If more unnamed depots for upcoming add-ons enter the steamdb down the route, I will make sure to document them here as accordingly.

I would somehow expect Blackpool to be next on that list, following Maintalbahn since it was announced (or could go reverse due to timing, who knows). The smallest of the three does seem like one of the packs that Rivet is making (along with their next Swiss route soon), no denying that, as looking at the roadmap it'll be a while until any news about the next loco DLC will shine.

Here we go again, everyone! The TSW3 depot thread was lots of fun, can’t wait for what TSW4 has in store.

Regarding the huge 9GB depot, it might well be Blackpool-Preston because Just Trains have undoubtedly put lots of detail and unique models in there. There’s also a small possibility this might be the unannounced Rivet Swiss route. Judging by the wording of the roadmap section, it seems like Blackpool-Preston’s release is still quite far away (possibly 1 month or more), so there’s a chance Rivet might release their route beforehand.
The small loco-related depot is for sure one of Rivet’s gameplay packs, maybe we’ll see that very soon. As we know, the gameplay packs tend to get minimal marketing and release quite spontaneously (e.g. WCL Steam and Horseshoe Curve Heritage).

With today's update, we have two new unnamed depots with download sizes, both of which are quite small.
    • First is depot 2584080, with has the larger size of 318.11 MiB, putting it in-between the download size for the Flying Scotsman & NS Heritage Livery Collection Add-Ons.
    • The smaller depot is 2584090, which is currently sized 182.85 MiB, around the size of the DB BR 187 & 363 loco add-ons respectively.
These are definitely for loco add-ons/expansion packs of some kind. We know rivet are working on two of them, with could be either of these, or one of them and the other is the one that came a couple of weeks ago. Not sure what the third would be right now, but there is some loco expansion from a unknown new partner that is in the works, so it could be for that, but let's see how this all turns out in the coming weeks.

But the names of the packs are still encrypted, right? Took a look at SteamDB and could only find the sizes of the packs, not the names.

SteamDB needs someone to gift them a key or use a token dumper program to provide filename decryption.

If you got spare keys from HumbleBundle for example, it's always a good idea to support SteamDB.

We have our first unnamed depot that has been revealed. Depot 2386172 is indeed for Just Trains' first route, Blackpool Branches: Preston - Blackpool & Ormskirk. Final download size for that one is 8.69 GiB, tied with Niddertalbahn for the second largest DLC size behind Kassel - Würzburg.

In other news, Monday's update added two new unnamed depots, which are the following:
    • One is depot 2584100, which is sized 327.05 MiB, in-between the sizes for the Flying Scotsman & NS Hertiage Livery DLC's. I would say it's for one of the upcoming expansion packs, which I did find confusing considering that we only know of the ones that Rivet & SimTrack are making, but I saw that Skyhook is working on a expansion pack of there own that's gone unnoticed, so this could be for any one of those.
    • The other depot, 2584110, is quite a bit larger, sized currently at 5.11 GiB, around the same sizes as routes such as Horseshoe Curve & Sherman Hill. I would say this depot is for Rivet's Berninalinie, which despite being around the same length as DTG's Maintalbahn, is guaranteed to have a larger size on the fact that it's a very scenery heavy route.

Depot 2584070 is probably the Arosa Aggregate Gameplay Pack with 111,45 MiB. (This depot got updated several times together with Arosa and Anniversary pack.

Just coming in to round off some unfinished business regarding some of those unnamed depots.
    • Finally, depot, 2584110 ended up being for TSW's 3rd Swiss route (and second metre gauge route), Berninalinie, sized at 4.69 GiB.
That should be everything covered. Currently there are non unused depots with download sizes in the steamdb, but if any updates do bring some, I'll be sure to cover them here.

  15. Should see some new ones pop up in the next 2-3 weeks maximum.

I'm speculating Donner Pass and it should be huge. Or Marias Pass.

Yeah, I assume the new content should be releasing in the near future, so we should be seeing activity on the SteamDB files.

There is a new us route coming in the near future for which Brandon (Cactusjuice) did the signaling for so it is presumably a passenger route so maybe.

Long American freight only routes are really not populair... Passenger routes in America has more potential.... For me personally its also not a fun way of play the sim drive 100miles with an average speed of 30 M/H

  21. I agree. I want to see some flat freight routes such as in Iowa, Illinois, Missouri Ohio etc etc
But Cajon has half the route (more if you count mileage distance) as high speed.

But I am just deducing that it is likely to come at some stage.

A mountain pass route is great enjoyment but yes it's not as popular as passenger. Problem for the US is that passenger routes aren't that great or fun as European and Asian routes.

So I found that for every 3 US routes there is a dedicated freight route.

So if you don't believe me go see the catalogue and do the numbers.

Even LIRR has the same equipment as other US routes in California using the passenger coaches and locomotive.

I like variety and don't see much chance of a New York route until next year or December this year.

There are three routes for New York already in TSW3/4 and that is the city, not the state in rural. That tells me there is overt focus on NY and there is good reason for that because the sales go through the roof when a route is made in the most popular city on earth.

I rarely use LIRR or Harlem line (even though Harlem is good! LIRR has improved a lot too) and would consider a freight route before using those two in day to day playing.

I guess time will tell when DTG makes an announcement in early to mid February.

Don’t get too excited. The guy posting that has a bee in his bonnet that Donner or Maria’s is being worked on without a shred of evidence to validate the claim. Even if true it’s obviously still under wraps so anyone revealing the project either in public or through “friend of a friend” liable to get sued for breach of NDA.

I'm not, look where West Glacier is on the map. The segment I was hinting at is not the pass itself, it's before it.

It means I fully expect if we ever get Marias Pass, it would be a small portion terminating in a middle of nowhere, released to the complete and utter disappointment of the US community.

Cool, I wonder what line and rollingstock maybe featured for LIRR. Hopefully M9 and C3 with the DM30AC locomotives. I definitely look forward to the roadmap in 2 weeks

Not to sure if I am reading or deciphering this correctly but 2584120 on the SteamDB says unknown currently. How to know if this relates to the LIRR M3? I also saw that 2375902 displays as LIRR M3. Are these for DLC that released already for TSW2020 or are the list of items that are displayed in the SteamDB updates for DLC that currently exists or for routes that we may get in the future?

I think because LIRR might have something to do with the new US route either that or it's getting an update/patch but more likely it's involved in the US Route.... How ik this.... Before PBO TVL... Class 31 and the Class 20 were all updated out of nowhere on SteamDB and overtime IIRC had it SteamDB updated multiple times until it was indeed confirmed that the Class 31, 20, 101 from TVL will have service layers on PBO... So in LIRRs case.. it might be involved in AI service enabling on the next US route(meaning it's a New York based route) or this could just be a coincidence

That is good to hear, with that, I have a feeling we could get the LIRR mainline up to Ronkonkoma featuring the Babylon branch, or possibly the New Haven Line, with the LIRR layering in for AI services. It could be either one of those routes potentially

A new branch called "dev_2" was created 7 days ago which includes all of the existing DLCs and depots.

I wonder what the branch is for...

But isn't that supposed to be available for all Steam players? In that case there should be no nees for a new branch.

Beta updates in steam are new branches, because they run simultaneous to the non beta version. So it will be opt in to use the beta branch.

Pretty big moment here, as todays update brought two new unnamed depots with download sizes into the steamdb, and both appear to be for upcoming route add-ons.
    • The first one is depot 2584130 which has a download size of 6.04 GiB, around the same size as NEC: New York Trenton & Linke Rheinstrecke.
    • The other is depot 2584140 which is sized 4.35 GiB, in-between the sizes for Maintalbahn & the Bakerloo Line.
The former is probably for the unannounced US route, while the later I would say is probably for the upcoming GOBLIN route (Gospel Oak to Barking) considering that it is a small route and is supposedly due not long after the US route. But with the Dovetail Direct coming this Sunday, we should hopefully find out then what these depots could be for (along with finding out what the US route is at last).

My guess might be Morris and Essex lines Summit (I-78 exit 45) to New York City 6.04 GB or Raritan Valley Line High Bridge I-78 exits 16-18 to NYC as the route.

Well... We all know the larger file might have something to do with LIRR because lately and today LIRR 2 rumors have been on the rise, so it's likely this has something to do with it. The 4.35 GB file on the other hand is Goblin Line

Yeah, because it isn't an actual beta. It's just the normal version for all Steam users. So not even sure why they called it a beta patch at that point.

  39. Yes, I wonder when Rosenheim and the ATS route (UK) is coming.

If Union Workshop is getting close to 85% we might even see that soon. I doubt they would have put it on the roadmap in September if they knew it would take another 12 months.

Speculation ATS could be Sottish Highlands, WCML or something near London.

US route speculation is Donner Pass. Nothing from New York will come out until 2025 at the earliest. Again speculation and reading what devs say and MP.

I remember in TSC the Munich Rosenheim route was quite nice.

I speculated 12 months ago we might be getting Garmisch Partinkirchen (from Munich) and I wasn't far off.

I do think we need a US freight line that is single track where you can do crossings (meets) with long trains in the Midwest (not a mountain pass) and a double line somewhere between Kansas City and Chicago that has 70MPH for freight and Amtrak. Southwest Chief would feature. If Donner Pass is the one (Maybe Marias Pass that also has Amtrak yes?) I think Amtrak at least used to run on it. Or still does on the California Zephyr? It seems to run still.

  41. Oh well.... if that's the case then we will or should get a confirmation in about 15 hours time.

After LIRR, I think the next NY based route will be Metro North for 2025

  43. There will be another US route this year if LIRR comes tomorrow.

I suspect it will be freight or dual freight passenger.

We need Amtrack's California Zephyr or the Los Angeles one. Southwest Chief.

The new US route is lirr, there's no doubt about that, I speculate that the other US route on the roadmap is another Metrolink route given that last year when Matt was was asked about an mp36 he said they had other plans for that.

They mentioned during the stream that union workshop is still really early in development. We didn't even get shots of the rolling stock. It's even in the release to be confirmed section.

They mentioned on the roadmap that the unannounced us route is still waiting for licensing approval which is a bit of time away so some patience is required before they can officially announce it

Of all the news, the possible LIRR update is the most exciting for me. I'm excitedly awaiting its release. This has to be one of the best TSW routes.

  49. Yes I saw that. True.

I wonder if Donner Pass is being worked on.

Yeah, and even on the preview screenshots, the distant scenery clearly is absent. I assume most of the development time so far was spent making assets and the actual route building is just starting now.
