Welcome to the Unofficial Screenshot Competition This is a fun and friendly alternative to the official Screenshot Competition run by DTG. Here you can share your weekly themed TSC screenshots using any 3rd party / post shot editing etc. creations which are not allowed in the official competition. Rules: TSC only shots allowed. Screenshot should be in some way (can be very tenuous) linked to the theme. Otherwise anything goes. You can enter up to 3 screenshots, posted as separate posts. You can delete and replace if you wish. 3rd party content / Reshades / Reskins etc. are welcomed but are not mandatory. Previous week's winner to decide winner (can't enter themselves). The winner chooses the new theme for next week (and becomes the new judge). The Judge of the week's decision is final. We strongly discourage any negative comment or criticism of another entry by a fellow contributor, this is a light hearted & fun contest! This is a major "we are all friendly" thread and we hope it will always remain so. Please keep chat to an absolute minimum. Entries will close at 9:00 PM GMT on Friday, July 7th and will be judged by me - Blazin In the event of this weeks winner not responding by 5:00 PM GMT Sunday, July 9th, a new thread will be created using the theme with the highest votes in this weeks poll. This week's theme is Side View - It doesn't have to be an exactly on the side, there can be some angle viewing the front but just make sure you get a good view of the side of the train! Good luck to you all.
EXAMPLE SCREENSHOT Remember! It doesn't have to be exactly like this, like I said, it can be your own interpretation of the theme! The example screenshot is only a guideline if you are stuck.

Side on view of the business end of 50 007 "Sire Edward Elgar" awaiting instruction. Loco:- AP GWR Class 50 Route:- Welsh Marches
A misty evening on Somerleyton Bridge, (taken into the sunlight which is normally a no-no for a photographer), but this just floated my boat which I happened to be on, enjoying a beer, when I took this shot. Even the bridge central supporting structure and reflections are L/R spot on Side On ,"Just Saying", LOL. P.s. Can we please have an emoji for taking the p+++? Loco:- AP Class 156 Route:- Wherry Lines [EDIT] Loving the contributions so far, great to see new contributors, welcome aboard babybird & kostya.voloshin.05 .
An ATW Class 121 "Bubble Car" just outside of Hereford. Yes you can fit the whole train in on a near enough side on shot. Try that with a 11 car HST LOL Loco:- Class 121 Route:- Welsh Marches
A Woodhead Head to Head. That is what I love about this thread, the friendly good humoured banter. Note:- top of cabs are lined up with the background trees, and front of cabs are equidistant (nearly) from the central pillar LOL #attentiontodetail.com
A well worn rusty 8F crosses the rusty Dinting viaduct with a consignment of new Morris Minor cars on the Woodhead line.
An early BR Green tractor wakes up at Wearhead with no doubt a heavy day ahead. [Edit] My apologies triznya.andras I know you hate to see an in your face AP Class 37 in competition threads but have to admit I just love the thing to bits, the attention to detail on this beast is just amazing. Probably my Number 1 goto BR Loco Sorry.
Entry 1 By the end of their careers, the GG1s would pull with Amfleets (in Phase 1-2, loco can be anything: PRR, PC, even Amtrak). This is on the Northeast Corridor, as you can tell from the trees, catenary and track (bed).
Entry 2 I was pondering to enter the one in the weekly, as this was shared before. This is on Soldier Summit, using the Union Pacific / United Way SD40-2 with a DD35.
Entry 3 After collecting a few nice ones from my 158 sessions, I chose to reenter this anyway - the above two have enough flowers. This is well into a Durham - Wearhead special.
Hehe I think I will survive! It was just a simple way for me to say that I like to see variety in these threads as well, subject and composition. Not just for me, but anyone passing by and looking around. Also, don't want to argue here ever. It came up during a discussion or two, because reasons. These threads are not about me or my preferences, the absolute ceiling of my intention could be to point out a possible loop. For a good while now the content is pretty good in that regard.
No worries, and certainly no arguments from me, just could not resist a little wind up knowing your past postings regarding the AP Class 37. Am loving your contributions to this thread, long may they continue.
Here are the results for Week 27 of the 2023 Unofficial Screenshot Competition! Lots of excellent submissions this week, thank you everyone for participating. Let's get on with the results. In 3rd place is mfeets with their awesome coal train screenshot descending the Soldier Summit in 1997. In 2nd place is I`m a railfan obviously with this fantastic screenshot peeking through the bushes to reveal two Regio DB Stadler FLIRTs! In 1st place is Craigie-C with this fabulous shot of the sun shining down on these early electric trains in the UK. I love it! I can't wait to see the theme you choose for the next week Craigie-C!
Yay!!! Thanks Blazin, much appreciated. Another great selection of shots yet again, well done all. I have created next weeks thread with the theme ;- Sheds / Workshops / Depots etc. https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/unofficial-screenshot-competition-2023-week-28.71400/ Have fun
