Welcome to the Unofficial Screenshot Competition! This is a fun and friendly alternative to the official Screenshot Competition run by DTG. Our rules: Screenshot should be in some way (can be very tenuous) linked to the theme. You can enter up to 3 pictures, posted separately. You can delete and replace if you wish. TSC only shots allowed. 3rd party content, enhancement and artistic editing is accepted. Thread poster picks the podium and can't enter themselves. The decision is final. The winner chooses the new theme for next week and becomes its judge. We strongly discourage any negativity, this is a light hearted & fun contest! This is a major "we are all friendly" thread and we hope it will always remain so. Please keep chat to an absolute minimum. The theme this week is Steam Entries will close at 9:00 PM GMT on Friday, August 18th (Or whenever I pull myself out of the bush I fell into for a sleep after friday nights pub session) and will be judged by me PaulC. In the event of this week's winner not responding by 5:00 PM GMT Sunday, August 13th, a new thread will be created with the backup theme Freestyle as its always a popular choice. Good luck and have fun!
British Railways 4073 Class '7036' 'Taunton Castle' leads a Newton Abbot bound passenger train running low on coal and water into the seaside town of Dawlish. Loco: GWR 4073 Class Route: Riviera Line in the Fifties: Exeter - Kingswear
Union Pacific Big Boy '4004' heads light engine into the loop and sidings at Granite to make the first of many pick ups of freight bound for Cheyenne. Loco: Union Pacific Big Boy Route: Sherman Hill
British Railways Peppercorn Class A2 '60532' 'Blue Peter' picks up some speed after departing from Peterborough on a railtour operating between York and King's Cross. Loco: LNER Peppercorn Class A2 Route: East Coast Main Line London-Peterborough
Full on the regulator up the WCML, doing what she was designed for. (the recently released CW Princess Elizabeth) Loco:- CW LMS Princess Royal Route:- WCML Over Shap
A J27 crosses Belah Viaduct on the Stainmore line with a trip working to Bowes Locomotive: Caledonia Works J26/27 Route: Stainmore, Shap and the Eden Valley - Steam Sounds Supreme
Based (very loosely) on a photograph in the book "Smoke Across the Fells" by Michael Welch, 46210 Lady Patricia powers south near Plumpton with the up "Mid-Day Scot" on 9th July 1955. Route: Steaming Over Shap, wotawallysbits Loco: Caledonia Works Princess Royal
A GWR 43xx in plain black BR livery hauls a rake of milk tanks heading for Kingswear on the Riviera in the 50's line.
As you know me I play steam very infrequently, maybe I should hire an auto fireman... I found four shots that could be nice, interesting, or both. The BR 52 has a less seen livery, the ÖBB version. I suppose this is one of the Hagen-Siegen free roams, sky color says autumn.
The next shot is typical me, full color wheel, contrast, lush nature. It's an AI train, either for diversity or some kind of a rail tour, during a Koblenz-Trier scenario.
And last, here is a Baldwin / Southern Pacific Cab Forward, which is currently acting as a personal cloud generator. This is also an AI train during the scenario where we descend to Colfax. Seconds later we meet.
30931 " Kings Wimbledon" in early BR Green livery, pulls a rake of 6 Bulleid Multidoor coaches out of Doniford Holt, next stop Watchet. Loco:- SR V "Schools" Class Route:- West Somerset Line
LOL... I saw the word freestyle in bold... wasn't reading properly. I shall delete in a min. Unfortunately... I don't do steam, so I shall sit this one out. Good luck all.
My final entry for this week is once again inspired by a photograph in Michael Welch's Smoke Across The Fells. It's 4th July 1959 and it's super power on the West Coast Main Line as 45668 Madden pilots 46102 Black Watch on the 4:05pm Glasgow Central-Manchester Victoria, conveying through coaches for Liverpool Exchange. The "Jubilee" was a Patricroft engine at the time, thus solving both the problems of requiring a pilot from Carlisle and getting it back to its home shed. Route: Steaming over Shap (wotawallys bits) Locos: Bossman Games Jubilee and Royal Scot
No worries, why not post a shot of something that is available on "Steam"? In fact restore your original shot, as WCML Over Shap sits nicely with that criteria. LOL
It's an option to set up a free roam with objectives, fly around following and capturing the trains. The next time.
Ah sorry mate my fault! That part does not need to be in bold tbh. I'll judge this very soon when I fire up laptop
