Welcome to the Unofficial Screenshot Competition!

This is a fun and friendly alternative to the official Screenshot Competition run by DTG.
Here you can share your weekly themed TSC screenshots using any 3rd party / post shot editing etc. creations which are not allowed in the official competition.

    Rules:
    • TSC only shots allowed.
    • Screenshot should be in some way (can be very tenuous) linked to the theme. Otherwise anything goes.
    • You can enter up to 3 screenshots, posted as separate posts. You can delete and replace if you wish.
    • 3rd party content / Reshades / Reskins etc. are welcomed but are not mandatory.
    • Previous week's winner to decide winner (can't enter themselves).
    • The winner chooses the new theme for next week (and becomes the new judge).
    • The Judge of the week's decision is final.
    • We strongly discourage any negative comment or criticism of another entry by a fellow contributor, this is a light hearted & fun contest! This is a major "we are all friendly" thread and we hope it will always remain so.
    • Please keep chat to an absolute minimum.

Entries will close at 10PM GMT on Saturday, March 22nd 2025 and will be judged by me - Limeyfox.

In the event of this week's winner not responding by 10PM GMT on Sunday, March 23rd 2025, a new thread will be created using the results of this week's poll.

The theme for this week is: Terminus
Feel free to interpret the theme however you wish.

I know the British entry - rest will come later :)
On a strike or otherwise issue affected day, a Class 158 usually in TPE service enters Kings Cross:

A few carriages would have done the trick, but alas, there is no time travel. On the up, it's a clean shot for catenary and switch nerds. :)

You're a brave or foolish man to name Scotland as part of England, it is part of the UK and part of GB but England? Like calling North Island as part of Oz! or Oz as West Island.

Oh lord, as a geopolitics nerd that has to be one of the silliest typing mistakes I’ve ever made!! Thanks for pointing it out LOL

I meant to say Glasgow, Scotland in the United Kingdom. Can you tell I wrote that post during nightfall when I was tired? ;)

I didn't find really nice ones. Given the begging :), here is a US shot with a puff of smoke roleplaying a missing sky asset:

... and an alt shot of the Maglev (absolutely destroyed by the forum theme but it's nice in full screen):

Well that's another week gone by, and I'm pleased to judge and announce the winners of the Unofficial Screenshot Contest. The topic was 'Terminus'. (Despite my secret hoping, nobody came up with a shot of Waterloo. Brownie points to anyone who gets the reference )

In Third place is this intricate and interesting shot of London Kings Cross by triznya.andras . The complexity of the catenary and smooth geometry of the track is maximised by the low angle shot.
    View attachment 186580

In Second place we have the Cologne shot from Blazin - the super-low angle means that the cathedral dwarfs the massive bridges and train. Excellent composition!
    View attachment 186634

This week's WINNER is this simple yet stunning picture of Mallaig from Craigie-C - I love the low lighting and the seagull. Maybe he's about to start a long arduous journey as well. Well done!

I hereby hand over the single line token, you can pass this signal, please obey all other signals!

Thank you for 2nd place and congratulations to the other winners! And yes, the cathedral does indeed dwarf the bridge. It was a bloody pain just getting a good zoomed in angle of the train not being cut off by the bottom of the frame and still having the very top of the cathedral be visible.

Cheers Limeyfox for choosing my shot as this weeks' winner, much appreciated.
Also a huge well done to all for creating such wonderful variations on the theme,
Must admit I did think that terrific Cologne shot was the stand out one for me.
So on we roll to week 12 with the theme "What A Beautiful Day"
Make of that what you will, it does not necessarily have to be weather related, just what in your own mind depicts a beautiful day.
    Have fun folks.
