Welcome to the Unofficial Screenshot Competition This is a fun and friendly alternative to the official Screenshot Competition run by DTG. Here you can share your weekly themed TSC screenshots using any 3rd party / post shot editing etc. creations which are not allowed in the official competition. Rules: TSC only shots allowed. Screenshot should be in some way (can be very tenuous) linked to the theme. Otherwise anything goes. You can enter up to 3 screenshots, posted as separate posts. You can delete and replace if you wish. 3rd party content / Reshades / Reskins etc. are welcomed but are not mandatory. Each week's winner becomes Judge & Jury for the week (can't enter themselves). The winner chooses the new theme for next week (and becomes the new judge). The Judge of the week's decision is final. We strongly discourage any negative comment or criticism of another entry by a fellow contributor, this is a light hearted & fun contest! This is a major "we are all friendly" thread and we hope it will always remain so. Please keep chat to an absolute minimum The theme this week is Leaning into it. Please Interpret in any way you wish, but think Cant/Superelevation... or tilting trains... anything that shows the drama and forces of hundreds of tons being hurled around a bend at speed... or even stopped at a station, it's up to you to interpret it as you feel. Union Pacific empty coal on the branch to Bailey Mine with the United Way SD40-2 and a pristine GP35. I did the full round trip: getting there, loading and coming back down.
37042 leans into the curve at Spondon as it passes under the junction of Raynesway and the A52 with trip 6T91 from Chaddesden to Mountsorrel on 5th November 1999.

Ran a really short quick drive this morning to test out how the colors of the blue boxcars work with the scenery. The test wasn't particularly successful as you can see, however got a couple suitable shots, I guess. First, the try hard. On the spot I was happy with it. Now less so. Anyway.
Happier with this second one. The only problem is, the leaning isn't particularly visible, even though we know it is there. Sherman Hill, Buford to Dale, with the SP SD45 (-1) and the clearly not blue Hydra-Cushion 50ft box cars.

No worries, take your time, there are more important things in life that we have to deal with, e.g craigie-c & yourself dealing with dementia parents, the comp can wait. Life throws up curve balls and guess what, worst case scenario we roll over to next week. Best wishes.
Ok... here we go. They're all so good... nightmare, but after careful thought, I keep coming back to the same ones. Third place: Georgeuk90. I just love the lighting on this shot, with the front of the 37 in shadow making it look sinister. Second place: Triznia.Andras. A real sense of weight and power as it negotiated the curve. Which leaves.... First Place: Blazin: Great lighting and colours, and a real sense of speed as the Pendolino tilts over into the bend. That was really tough. It always is, but as always, I just go with my gut as to which best fulfils the week's brief. Over to you Mr Blazin.
