Welcome to the Unofficial Screenshot Competition!

This is a fun and friendly alternative to the official Screenshot Competition run by DTG.
Here you can share your weekly themed TSC screenshots using any 3rd party / post shot editing etc. creations which are not allowed in the official competition.

    Rules:
    • TSC only shots allowed.
    • Screenshot should be in some way (can be very tenuous) linked to the theme. Otherwise anything goes.
    • You can enter up to 3 screenshots, posted as separate posts. You can delete and replace if you wish.
    • 3rd party content / Reshades / Reskins etc. are welcomed but are not mandatory.
    • Previous week's winner to decide winner (can't enter themselves).
    • The winner chooses the new theme for next week (and becomes the new judge).
    • The Judge of the week's decision is final.
    • We strongly discourage any negative comment or criticism of another entry by a fellow contributor, this is a light hearted & fun contest! This is a major "we are all friendly" thread and we hope it will always remain so.
    • Please keep chat to an absolute minimum.

Entries will close by end of Friday, 2025-01-31 and will be judged by me.

In the event of this weeks winner not responding by 2025-02-02 17:00 a new thread will be created using the results of this weeks poll (this case meaning Freestyle and ideally 2nd place to judge).

The theme for this week is: Out in the sticks
Feel free to interpret the theme however you wish.

In the UK, Rannoch Moor is about as far out into the sticks as you can get. It's 1956 and a Peppercorn K1 is piloting a brand new BR Standard 5 on the afternoon train from Glasgow and Edinburgh to Fort William. Despite the large body of water, the line is over 1200ft above sea level at this point, one of the highest and most remote railway locations in the British Isles. Corrour station (and summit) is only minutes away; after that it's all downhill to Fort William and sea level.

One would have to admit that Cheyenne Wyoming was still pretty much in the sticks in 1869.

Out in the sticks on a dull, overcast, typical British summer's day on the WCML, just north of Berkhamsted back in 2003, 90023 is seen heading north with the RES parcel train as 92041 " Vaughan Williams" heads south with 6Z95 (a mixed freight train) also dragging EWS 37042 and Mainline 37205 which are destined for Hither Green, where they will be used on a test train the following week.

Literately "out in the sticks" an 1890's logging camp. Hard work week then on Saturday, a ride on the log buggies to town to let off some "steam".

Out in the sticks of the Welsh countryside 37673 & 37670 head the 6S55 "Silver Bullet" TIA China Clay train back in October 1992.
From Burngullow to Irvine, a distance of 550m, this was the longest British Rail Direct Freight Service, and was known for the immaculate TIA wagons known as the Silver Bullets.

Good morning! Since we have four participants I'm going to keep it short :)
    • Limeyfox' lake shot is serene. Slight lo-fi. Minor positive bias because I've seen the rest of the set in the other thread.
    • OldAlaskaGuy's old Cheyenne setting is lovely. My fav is the first.
    • Craigie-C's set be nice, too. Initially I mistook the electric insulators above the loco as colour light signals ;) My fav is also the first.
    • Blazin brings his trademark nearby quality, I like the BR 440 the most.
If you slap me I'll conjure a ranked list but I would like to thank everyone and say that it's about equal, and I'm legally only bound to pick the winner. :)

I'd like to see where Limeyfox brings to us this coming week.

I’ll see about setting up the next week’s thread.
