The uniqueness of Knaresborough, with (in quick succession), viaduct, level crossing, station, tunnel, plays host to an ex-Scotrail Class 170, working a Leeds-York service still in its previous guise. On the left, the equally unique end-terrace signalbox looks on, perhaps wondering when the weedkiller train will be making its next appearance. In the distance, Knaresborough's down starter indicates line-clear onto the single-line to Cattal.
