Welcome to the Unofficial Screenshot Competition
This is a fun and friendly alternative to the official Screenshot Competition run by DTG.
Here you can share your weekly themed TSC screenshots using any 3rd party / post shot editing etc. creations which are not allowed in the official competition.

    Rules:
    • TSC only shots allowed.
    • Screenshot should be in some way (can be very tenuous) linked to the theme. Otherwise anything goes.
    • You can enter up to 3 screenshots, posted as separate posts. You can delete and replace if you wish.
    • 3rd party content / Reshades / Reskins etc. are welcomed but are not mandatory.
    • Previous week's winner to decide winner (can't enter themselves).
    • The winner chooses the new theme for next week (and becomes the new judge).
    • The Judge of the week's decision is final.
    • We strongly discourage any negative comment or criticism of another entry by a fellow contributor, this is a light hearted & fun contest! This is a major "we are all friendly" thread and we hope it will always remain so.
    • Please keep chat to an absolute minimum.
Entries will close at 21:00 GMT on Friday, December 23rd and will be judged by me - Craigie-C

In the event of this weeks winner not responding by 17:00 Sunday, December 25th, a new thread will be created using the theme with the highest votes in this weeks poll.

This weeks theme will be Working Hard

Have fun & good luck to all!

    Working hard, or hardly working?
GNER HST 43105 'City of Inverness' waits at a faulty red signal on the ECML whilst one worker is up on the gantry and 9 others are standing around (2 are standing at the signal beyond the bridge and 2 are stood near the HST so maybe acting as signal guards)

Hi all, my sincere apologies for my lateness in judging this weeks comp, tis that silly busy time of the year.
Anyroads onwards and upwards as they say.
Firstly can I just congratulate everybody on yet again providing the most fantastic set of shots for me to chose from, they are all amazing, I have really struggled to pick winners.
Where do I start? I eventually have decided to go with:-
Sharing the bronze podium place are I'm a railfan obviously and Paulc for these cracking class 31 and class 56 freight shots.
Again a shared silver podium place for Blazin for this beautiful DB BR101 shot (Love the angle and lighting)
and Paulc for the Licky incline shot, you really captured just how steep that climb is.
After much deliberation I just had to with my gut and award the Festive Gold Medal to cscarpenter for this stunning Class 37 on Ribblehead Viaduct capture, an iconic hard working loco on an equally iconic section of the UK rail network, well done.
It is over to you cscarpenter to take us all forward over the festive break. Merry Christmas to you all.

I would also like to award an honourable mention for these equally terrific shots.
    Blazin - fantastic landscape capture.
Nick-Y - loved the whole trackside working feeling.
and cscarpenter - I shivered just looking at this freezing landscape.

Serious well done and thank you to everyone for suporting this thread throughout 2022.
    Wishing you all a happy & healthy 2023 :)

What can I say, chuffed to bits :D, admit I was a tad late to the party this week so to come away with a win was a fantastic Xmas present.
    Thank you Craigie-C
Moving forward, just thought I would consult all you folks out there as to your preference for this great little comp. over the festive season. I am aware some of us may be away visiting relatives or just generally busy over the next week or so.
With that in mind would you prefer:-
    1. I Post a new thread this weekend and judge next Friday 30/12/2022
    2. I Post a new thread this weekend and leave it running till the following Friday 06/01/2023
    3. We have a break for a week & wait till next weekend to post a thread and I judge on the 06/01/2023
    Your thoughts please. :)
Whichever way you prefer is fine with me.
    Cheers

Thanks for your kind comments Paul, much appreciated.
Also a massive thanks to you for your continued support and regular contributions to this thread.
When we first started this Idea back in January 2021 I thought it might last for a couple of weeks and die, but here we are 2 years on and still receiving top draw quality contributions week in, week out.
Look forward to your offerings in 2023

Best wishes to all, Have a great Christmas & New Year

Given next weekend is New Year's Eve, it might be best to post it now and leave two weeks. It's Saturday already. Also, this way it likely won't be forgotten.
Might use the opportunity and consider moving this to Sunday evening or Monday as well. That way you always have the week to think about ideas and execute over the weekend. Of course some might have busy weekends, but it's never perfect to everyone.

    Happy holidays everyone!

    Option 2 for me.

I agree, with Christmas and the New Year just around the corner, if we have a new thread and theme posted this weekend we will all have the best part of two weeks to think about creating and uploading our contributions.

Thanks so much for the comments! I do love sharing screenshots & finding ways to make the sim look great, the weekly comp often gives me motivation to get in the virtual cab & go for a drive! Especially as I can't take part in the DTG comp as I have lots of banned DLC :D Long may the comp continue.

With the current sales I hope to further add to my collection & enhance my shots further, I hate to think of what I spent on TSC since I started out in March this year after I figured out I could probably run it at a decent FPS on my laptop :D

Hope you all have a great Christmas & see you in the next comp!

Ps option 2 sounds good to me!

Thank you Craigie-C for 2nd place and the honourable mention!!
    I prefer option 2!
I am so glad this unofficial screenshot competition was started! Earlier this year when I started using graphics enhancements on my game I was wondering what I would do since I loved participating in the official competition so much. But then I discovered this unofficial competition and I was very happy about that! Each week it's always so much fun to participate. And I agree with you paulc , it certainly is a motivation for me to play some Train Simulator Classic each week too!

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!! :D

Here you go folks, I have set the new thread up to run until 6th Jan as that seems to be the popular option for most.
Seeing as it is the first comp of 2023 I have decided on a free for all theme of Freestyle,
just launch your best TSC shots of any subject matter my way over the next two weeks.
On hindsight I will probably regret that choice when it comes to trying to pick out the winners. LOL
Thanks everyone for your continued support.
I hope you all have a fantastic Christmas & New Year and may 2023 bring you health & happiness, Ooh and also loads of winning screenshots.:D
    Best wishes
