Welcome to the Unofficial Screenshot Competition This is a fun and friendly alternative to the official Screenshot Competition run by DTG. Here you can share your weekly themed TSC screenshots using any 3rd party / post shot editing etc. creations which are not allowed in the official competition. Rules: TSC only shots allowed. Screenshot should be in some way (can be very tenuous) linked to the theme. Otherwise anything goes. You can enter up to 3 screenshots, posted as separate posts. You can delete and replace if you wish. 3rd party content / Reshades / Reskins etc. are welcomed but are not mandatory. Previous week's winner to decide winner (can't enter themselves). The winner chooses the new theme for next week (and becomes the new judge). The Judge of the week's decision is final. We strongly discourage any negative comment or criticism of another entry by a fellow contributor, this is a light hearted & fun contest! This is a major "we are all friendly" thread and we hope it will always remain so. Please keep chat to an absolute minimum. Entries will close at 9:00 PM BST on Friday, May 24th 2024 and will be judged by me - rwaday AKA AmericanSteam In the event of this weeks winner not responding by 5:00 PM BST Sunday, May 125th, a new thread will be created using the theme with the highest votes in this weeks poll. Theme for this week : "Stations and Platforms" Feel free to interpret the theme however you wish. Good luck to all, but most importantly, remember to have fun.

With the sea mist rolling in, it is a busy Bank Holiday morning at the little Dawlish Warren station. Due to a shortage of Locos, Collett Goods 2263 has been drafted in to run a local stopping service to Exeter, and is seen being held on Platform 2 to allow the 6023 "King Richard III" headed express service to Bristol to pass on the through line. Sitting on platform 1 is the Kingswear bound service headed by 6825 "Aylburton Grange". Just love the way the 3 smoke trails combine to form one elongated "M" shape. How sad am I ? LOL.
Not so many years earlier the picture was somewhat different. GWR Saint Class 2900 "Waverley" is held on Dawlish Warren Platform 2 as a War Department 2-8-0 Austerity blasts it's way through the station, on the through line, with "H.M.G Scene Shifter" in tow. Let us all hope we never go back to those dark days.
An Amtrak P32AC-DM and 5 Fleet Amfleet I coaches make a stop at Yonkers. This Empire Service train is bound for NY-Penn Station.

A big thank you to all who entered the contest for this week. So many shots here are much better than the official DTG contest. The first-place winner for this week’s Unofficial screen shot contest is paulc for A 66 Somewhere. This is a very nice evening shot on the GEML. The station lighting is well setup with both a white and yellow glow. He has captured a very nice sky with graduating colors and a few clouds to add depth. You will also be the one to pick the theme and run next week’s contest.
The second-place winner goes to Craigie-C for “With the Sea Mist Rolling In”. With this period piece of steam and passenger wagons. We see that the signal arm has dropped to allow the express to proceed while a few lingering passengers find their compartments. Nice use of the mist to add to the effect that it is a cold wet day and give a highlight to the locomotives standing in anticipation of departure.
The third place goes to malikrthr for An Amtrack P32AC-DM. This is a nice shot with sunlight playing off the buildings as it passes through the clouds. The background hints at a cloudy and overcast day, typical for a Yonkers Autumn.
Congratulations to paulc for a terrific winning shot, and also to everyone else for yet another great weekly selection of offerings. P.S. Thanks rwaday for the "Cuteness" award, much appreciated.
Many thanks for the win! loads of brilliant entries this week, I can`t wait to see what the coming week brings especially as we (in the UK at least) have an extra day on Bank Holiday Monday for TSC time New comp now up - https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/unofficial-screenshot-contest-week-22.81680/
