Just south of Tring in the beautiful Hertfordshire countryside, Porterbrook owned 87002 steps in to provide the Virgin London Euston to Birmingham service back in 2006 due to the newly introduced, unreliable, 390 Pendolino not being available.

Amazing what you find in the countryside? A Trans Europe Express crossing a bridge deep down in a valley on the Koblenz - Trier Route. Ooh and a large tower. LOL

Wow some excellent entries this week and to say I`ve had a tough time picking winners is an understatement! So here goes....

Pookeyhead & Blazin share 3rd place, Pookeyhead`s shot of the latest and greatest offering from AP is 87009 powers up the climb to Shap summit! & Blazin showcasing the GP-38 though Montana heading over a great little trestle bridge!

    24010_20220814120018_1.jpg

    EMD GP38-2 4.jpg

In 2nd place is Craigie-C with this brilliant image that I just love! just imagine heading out into the countryside for a hike up a hill & spotting this random lookout tower and in the distance an added bonus train passing by!

    20220214220842_1.jpg

In 1st place with Goldstar trains brand new MPV & an excellent bit of forest as a backdrop is cscarpenter! what a great shot! I love the dirt details and the inclusion of the double yellow signal which all adds to this great image!

    20220819165454_1.jpg

Congratulations & good luck to everyone for next weeks comp! Chances are I won`t be able to enter (unless I have some in my shot stash!) as I`m off to Anglesey camping until next friday :)

Congratulations to all the entries, it genuinely was a tough one to judge!

    Over to you cscarpenter!

Many congrats cscarpenter, a worthy winner if ever I saw one.
Must admit that was a bit sneaky to surprise us last minute.com with that pair of stunners LOL, I also love your Matlock landscape shot.
Thanks paulc for 2nd place, I'll take runner up any week, especially when the competition from all is so fierce.
Good luck to all for next week.
