(Not exactly sure if this counts, just let me know if it's too loose from the theme)
    Stroudley A1 Terrier 2.jpg
A preserved Stroudley A1 Class 'Terrier' is sent back in time to wear it's IWC livery and passes the locomotive that took over the Isle of Wight services from the steam engines, the Class 483, at Ryde Esplanade.

Locos: Stroudley A1 Class 'Terrier', BR Class 483
    Route: Isle of Wight

    Class 08 Shunter, Class 76 Electric Locomotive.jpg
With many steam services being faded out, a BR Class 08 pulls some freight wagons and a BR Class 76 pulls a passenger train which effectively replaces the steam locomotives pulling these services.

Locos: BR Class 08, BR Class 76
    Route: Woodhead

Stanier Black 5 45430, She might be old, she might be a bit rusty, but at least she still works, which is more than can be said for the gleaming new Class 25 that has had to be rescued after breaking down.

    Route: Settle-Carlisle Train: Class 37/BR Black 5.
Making it up the hills of Settle-Carlisle requires teamwork. Hopefully no breakdowns occur. Screenshot_Settle to Carlisle_54.20733--2.36552_19-02-13.jpg

    BR Standard Class 9F 4.jpg
The BR Standard Class 9F, the last stand of British steam as this locomotive was the last steam locomotive to be produced by the United Kingdom. Despite these steam locomotives being one of the most powerful steam locomotives built by the United Kingdom this did not stop the diesels from taking over many services from the steam engines. This BR Standard Class 9F reverses from the Kingmoor Sheds to Viaduct Yard nearby Carlisle Station to assemble a freight train during the 1960s.

    Loco: BR Standard Class 9F
    Route: Western Lines of Scotland

Sorry for the delay, but here's the finalists:
    In third place:
Craigie-C with a lovely shot of new Western passing an aging 57XX
    [IMG]
    In second place:
Blazin with the Isle of Wight's ancient and more recent past meeting during a railtour
    [IMG]
Honorable mention to cscarpenter, a nice shot somewhat spoiled by the signal getting in the way.
    In first place:
Pookeyhead with this stunner, excellent framing, lighting and post processing.[IMG]
Now to over to you Pookeyhead, I look forward to whatever you pick for next week's topic.

Great shot but at Exeter St Davids Platforms 4 & 5 (no such thing as a class 43 pannier).

OOps!!! may I please claim my award for doughnut of the year. :D
Can only put it down to a last minute rush upload before the contest ended, combined with a senior grey matter moment. LOL
I have another image from the same scenario taken at Torquay which I mistook for the Exeter one.
    20210116152041_1.jpg
As for the Class 43 Pannier, don't know what I was thinking.
I now have an image of a 125mph HST Pannier charging up the Riviera Line firmly planted in my head.

Congratulations to Pookeyhead on a superb winning shot, and to everyone else on sharing such cracking shots.
