I'm bored. And, as most people do when bored, they try to unbore them selves by doing the most boring thing imaginable... Reading the Train Sim Classic Forum. But then, "ugh" turned to "oooh!" when I stumbled across the Unofficial Screenshot Contest! I was aware of it and had totally forgotten about it - but it raised the question (which has been asked before)- why not do it for TSW? This post isn't a competition, it's a gauge of interest (Which is why it's in this forum; as it has more traction and i find people are more into voting in polls here than in the Creation Centre.) Having already done the TSW World Cup on this sub-forum in December (it's coming back, don't worry!) I think I am proven to be a reliable host of these competitions (in-between some occasional bans... Well, I behave now!) so I offer my hand to do it again. Anyway, less talk and more talk: here's what I propose: Themes I've done this thread spontaneously so I don't have a list made, just imagine the current one but with more creators club / livery / "make a scene" things + less restrictions. I'm open to suggestions. You can see why. Rules - Screenshots have to be of Train Sim World - Entries follow the specified theme - You are allowed two entries. If you submit more than two posts, without deleting them, the first two will be considered. - Scenario Planner & Creators Club Liveries are allowed. - Any theme directly relating to a livery must be entered with your own content. - If you are submitting a screenshot featuring a custom livery in one of these themes; you'll have to put evidence (see 'Admin') that it's yours. Admin My Photo Mode / DTL is broken so it's too much hassle for me to get screenshots to the internet and, as such, I won't enter. No bias here. Proving Liveries are Yours Liveries are hard to claim originality to. Recreations of real liveries are, well, based on real liveries, and depending on the quality of them can look very convincing. As such, in any contest direct relating to a livery theme (this will be made clear to you), you'll have to attach either: 1. A Screenshot of your Liveries List with the "Edit" button clearly shown below the relevant livery 2. A Screenshot of the Livery within the Livery Editor or 3. A Screenshot of the Livery in Creators Club with the Running the Contest My idea is to do weekly challenges starting/ending on Tuesdays. I'm weighing up possible creating a little group of people to vote on the winner (I'll wait and see who takes the lead) What do you win? Brownie Points + a place on the leaderboard. Maybe a DLC* *T&C's apply. Depending on Trainsimplayer winning the lottery. Mom said you have to let your brother have a turn, so let him! I have a bridge to sell you... Well, not exactly a bridge. I lied. Well, I suppose bridges could be involved in this but that's besides the point. Beyond pure boredom, this is something I've thought of before and I figured I may as well make use of said boredom. The DTG contest is obviously slightly more rewarding in that your screenshot can end up in the game + on socials, but it can end up slightly sterile as everything is vanilla. So why not open the floodgates? Why not challenge people to create scenes from certain periods in time, or from certain operators? Why not challenge people to explore their creative side, while also allowing for a bit more of a 'anything-goes' approach to the contest. For the sake of fun! I did also consider something of a community driving challenge (like the challenges in the fantastic TSW Community Discord Server) but I'll wait and see if a certain rumour about a certain TSW 4+1 is actually true or not. How did I end up doing the World Cup and this? The TSC Forum are on the ball! Anyway, vote above and feel free to suggest themes. I'm off to find more ways of relieving boredom. P.S. The Poll runs for a few days P.P.S. The Competition will take place in the Creators Club forum if it happens P.P.P.S. Long live the Class 380!
