Because the mfeets hasn't responded, by default I will run this weeks contest. This is a fun and friendly alternative to the official Screenshot Competition run by DTG. Here you can share your weekly themed TSC screenshots using any 3rd party / post shot editing etc. creations which are not allowed in the official competition. Rules: • TSC only shots allowed. • Screenshot should be in some way (can be very tenuous) linked to the theme. Otherwise anything goes. • You can enter up to 3 screenshots, posted as separate posts. You can delete and replace if you wish. • 3rd party content / Reshades / Reskins etc. are welcomed but are not mandatory. • Previous week's winner to decide winner (can't enter themselves). • The winner chooses the new theme for next week (and becomes the new judge). • The Judge of the week's decision is final. • We strongly discourage any negative comment or criticism of another entry by a fellow contributor, this is a light hearted & fun contest! This is a major "we are all friendly" thread and we hope it will always remain so. • Please keep chat to an absolute minimum. Entries will close at 9PM GMT on Friday, September 13th, 2024 and will be judged by me - OldAlaskaGuy In the event of this weeks winner not responding by 17:00 on September 15th, 2024 a new thread will be created using the results of this weeks poll. The theme for this week by the results determined by the previous poll: Container Freight Feel free to interpret the theme however you wish, any sort of open freight modern or retro, British, American or of any other nationality is okay. Good luck to all and enjoy the competition!
90011 & 90049 head the 4L67 Trafford Park F.L.T. to Felixstowe North F.L.T. service, seen here just south of Rugby passing D.I.R.F.T. (Daventry International Rail Freight Terminal)
The year is 2019 and 4L92, Ditton F.L.T. to Felixstowe North F.L.T. headed by 86610 & 86612, snakes it's way back on to the WCML after being held in the Garston Loop for faster services to pass.

They are captured here leaving England, crossing the border into Scotland just north of Gretna Green Junction. [EDIT] Just found out I have have used a icky bit of artistic licence with the weather settings. Just found a video of said day which looked more like:- I really should have known better, this is much more like typical UK March weather. LOL just for the record:- the clouds, IMO, disappeared and the sun came out just as it crossed the border, and then quickly retreated back to dull and overcast as it ventured further North. My story and I am sticking with it. LOL May I also take this opportunity to personally thank OldAlaskaGuy for taking us all forward to yet another week. I myself, like many of us regular contributors, really look forward to each week and what theme it may bring. Occasionally we are going to hit the curve ball of someone being away, or PC issues etc. etc. but it seems that any one of us will always be happy to step up to the mark and keep the thread going. Considering we set this up, with an expectation of maybe six weeks? on:- Feb 27th/ 2021 https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/unofficial-3rd-party-screenshot-comp-week-1.36211/ We have come a long way. Long may it continue, many thanks to you all for your support.
Well, that's what I get for forgetting to check the forum for the whole weekend... Anyways, a quartet of UP power leads an intermodal uphill through Hotlum early in the morning during the late 2000s. Route: UP Black Butte Subdivision Locos: AC4400CW, SD70M, ES44AC
Freightliner Class 66 '66504' braves an extremely heavy rainstorm on a Summers evening to ensure the containers of freight are to be successfully delivered to their destinations. Here the train is seen weaving northeast along the Felixstowe Branch Line in England of the United Kingdom with a rake of FSA wagons loaded with intermodal containers shunted together at the Felixstowe Central Terminal and will soon be joining the East Suffolk Like and then the Great Eastern Main Line to continue southeast to London. Motive Power: British Rail Class 66 Route: Great Eastern Main Line London-Ipswich Scenario: [PH66] Freightliner to Stratford Enhancements: Armstrong Powerhouse Sky & Weather Enhancement Pack 2.0 + Armstrong Powerhouse Cloud Enhancement Pack, Alan Thomson Sim AP Track Enhancement Textures Pack, Armstrong Powerhouse Signal Enhancement Pack, Armstrong Powerhouse Vegetation Enhancement Pack, RW Enhancer 2, ReShade
Before the standard of the intermodal container transfers we seen on trains today came about; there were various methods used throughout the world. One such example was popular in the United States of America in the mid to late 1900s which was loading the truck trailers themselves with the containers onboard onto flat wagons and transporting them across the country where they would simply be transferred to another truck on destination arrival. Here we see such an operation; where Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railway GE U38CGs '350', '351', '353' and '357' head eastbound through the dry lands of Arizona in the United States of America during a Summers morning operating service Train 100; also known as the Super C. Unfortunately this practice now appears to have completely died out in the USA as recently Norfolk Southern operated their final train utilising such a system of intermodal container transfer. Motive Power: GE U28CG Route: Arizona Divide: Winslow - Williams Scenario: [SFC 1.10] Train 100, The Super C Enhancements: Armstrong Powerhouse Sky & Weather Enhancement Pack 2.0 + Armstrong Powerhouse Cloud Enhancement Pack, RW Enhancer 2, ReShade
FRET SNCF Class 186 '186 260-6' of the Bombardier TRAXX F140 MS model departs Strasbourg Port-du-Rhin Yard in France with a string of intermodal containers to be brought northwards across the border into Germany for Frankfurt in the state of Hesse. Before doing this however; after leaving the yard '186 260-6' will need to do a shunt around the rake at Strasbourg-Neudorf Yard before the northbound freight move into Germany on a lovely Autumnal evening. Motive Power: Bombardier TRAXX F140 MS Route: Bahnstrecke Strasbourg - Karlsruhe Scenario: 01 - [186 FRET] Strasbourg Port-du-Rhin - Frankfurt (Main) Enhancements: Armstrong Powerhouse Sky & Weather Enhancement Pack 2.0 + Armstrong Powerhouse Cloud Enhancement Pack, RW Enhancer 2, ReShade
Does it have to move? Maschen Yard near Hamburg, Germany. There are no actual trains on this image. I think.
Farshore Logistics Class 33 in BR Blue with FEA-B containers from a Freightliner pack. In British Columbia. So it's fine and legit and all. (I was trying to vary scenery across the 8 liveries. Is this plausible as anything British?)
Containers without a code, lake without data. Also Canadian Mountain Passes, during Spiral Bound. I have upped lights since, but hope you like the view. (Sorry for the very technical and sweaty pun. Not.) Would you agree that the reflection of the skies forms the illusion of snowy mountain range?
70004 'The Coal Industry Society' makes a rare appearance north of Crewe with 4S59 Bas Hall - Coatbridge Liner Route: WCML over Shap Loco: Class 70
90048 in the very old FL Grey and 90044 in the very new G&W orange dawdle through Carnforth with the Saturday timed 4M30 Glider Fuel + 2 to Daventry Route: WCML Over Shap Loco: AP Class 90
2x CL20`s and a Container ship on the manchester ship canal just south of Warrington Bank Quay Station.
Thank you for all your entries. It was not easy this week. I award 3rd place triznya.andras I could hardly contain myself when I saw this. Second place goes to Blazin for his electrifying entry. Ant the first place to paulc for this multi modal container movement.
