So was driving the DB 766.2 on the Main Spessart Bahn. It seems (to me) that the in-cab sounds are really quiet. I will say I am no expert on the sound proofing of the afore-mentioned loco! But it is so quiet. Turning on external view gives a much louder volume. And when SIFA squeaks, most of the cats in my street respond to this high pitched screach!! I decided to switch to contrast and compare vs a class 101 on the TVL. The sounds on that have always cast me back to my youth. Not with standing it is a much older bit of kit, the sounds were louder and hence more immersive. If the 766.2 is really so quiet, then no problem. That's how it should be. Just pointing out what I see (well hear) in case it could be more realistic. Cheers Pete PS. That map... please improve it! Even the fact that to change view you press 1/2/3 etc and that moves you to a new view. If you press 9 to get the map view, pressing any other key to change views does nothing. For some reason 9 is a toggle map on/off. To *me* not veery intuative.
I also do not have any real life experience of the DB766.2 however you will need to bear in mind it is a cab car (an equivalent would be a DVT on a loco hauled British set). It is simply a carriage with driving controls. As such, I would possibly expect it to be as quiet as travelling in a modern carriage. The loco is the BR146.2 at the other end of the train on MSB, there are no traction motors in the cab car, and you are at the furthest point from the loco and the traction motors on the train. EDIT: I agree on the map view keys - its a pain to have to press 9 again to get out of the map
Sound volumes in the preserved collection routes are off a little on places compared to where they were in TSW2020. Fixes for these are in the current roadmap, although no date for resolution is provided. In the mean time, I drive this loco with the windows open as you get the track noise and external sounds at a more pleasing level.
they never fixed the class 20 in TSW21, wonder if it will ever be fixed (the muffled sound like you have when you open a window in your car at 80mph)
