Union Pacific 4-12-2 UP 9000 class UP1-5 88 built (9000-9087) great machine running of flats and straight track but were obviously tight in bends and mountains (prefer Sherman Hill) with UPs desire for more power with less engine on a train. this machine has 3 cylinders, but the one cylinder in the middle is the most trouble some to be repaired, ALCO gotten permission to use the Gresley conjugated valve gear
build dates 1926-1930 retired 1953-1956 one survives in preservation (UP x-9000)

This is a marvelous idea! These are some of my favorite Union Pacific steam locomotives. I love the burly look of the air compressors on the front of the smokebox. Their 3-cylinder exhaust was incredible to listen to, and that would be a must-have on the TS model. (The exhaust was a quick cadence of "one-two-three----one-two-three-----....) There is a recording of it somewhere on the internet.

    Great suggestion! God bless.

Luckily we do have something, there is a freeware MSTS port available.

yeah I am aware that someone made that but if you look at the model, its pretty old and its not on the store, yes you can use the model but i think it might be a better idea to update the model and bring it to the store

I quite like this suggestion. For what it's worth, my support's behind this suggestion.

I'm not sure if it's still happening or not, but a while back DSGDDR was working on a 4-12-2 along side a UP TTT-6. I know the TTT-6 fell through last year, but the 4-12-2 seems to be at least partially on the table, going off of the description/comment section for the most recent update.

DSG says his issue was trying to find good cab references I think.

I recently saw this the other day. Quite a fine-looking model, the textures are very high quality. Would to see him bring his content to the store.

Correct. He said that not being able to get cab pictures for the 5500 class was the reason that particular one is off the table.
