With UP DDA40X #6936 operational at the RR Heritage of Midwest America museum in Silvis, Ill (and running mainline excursions now) and another unit planned for restoration too, I think that we need to see these gigantic beasts in TSW. UP rostered 47 EMD DDA40Xs, #6900-6946. The first was built in 1969, just in time for the 100th Anniversary of the 1st Transcontinental RR (hence the nickname "Centennials"). From 1969 until the mid-1980s, these monsters handled fast freight across the UP system. They frequently saw service on Cajon Pass, Sherman Hill (both routes in game), the LA & Salt Lake Route, and occasionally on the ex-WP Feather River Canyon route that UP obtained in the 1983 WP/UP merger (It's also a route that is needed in game). 13 DDA40Xs have been preserved, with #6936 operational and another planned to be restored to operation as I mentioned earlier in this suggestion post. I've seen the one in Ogden, UT. It is a massive locomotive. At over 96 feet long and producing 6600HP with their two EMD 645 prime movers, the DDA40Xs were truly giants. As for rolling stock for these beasts, we should get cabooses, intermodal flatcars, coal hoppers, autoracks, boxcars, reefers, stock cars, etc. for 1970s-80s era railroading on the Cajon or Sherman Hill routes. Maybe an ex-WP Feather River Canyon route or an LA&SL route could also be made, as well as part of UP's Evanston Sub that runs between Ogden, UT and Green River, WY. A UP Bailey Yard/North Platte area or Omaha, NE route could be very cool to see.
