The Peninsula Corridor Route could use some more freight locomotives. Recently, I suggested the UP SD59MX. Now, here's another UP modern diesel for Peninsula Corridor freight operations: UP's EMD GP60.
The GP60 is a 3800HP diesel locomotive built by EMD between 1985 and 1994. The GP60 was EMD's last 4-Axle freight loco.
UP never originally rostered GP60s. They got their large GP60 roster from the D&RGW (3 units), SSW (95 units) and Southern Pacific (100 units). UP has recently started upgrading some of their GP60 units as GP62s and GP60Es.
A UP GP60 pack for Peninsula Corridor would include GP60s in UP livery and also SP and D&RGW Patched Liveries. Rolling stock would be the same as my UP SD59MX suggestion. Also, the UP GP60s/GP62s/GP60Es could also be operated on Cane Creek, Sherman Hill, Antelope Valley, and Cajon Pass.
If we get the GP60, we could also get NS and BNSF liveries, as well as BNSF's GP60M(-3)s and GP60Bs, plus some new rolling stock for Cajon and HSC.
